Back to England for another Season 7 revisit. This time I cover "Last Respects". I haven't seen this episode since the DVDs came out so I was interested in revisiting it. I forgot how I felt about it the first time, but I think I liked it more compared to other Season 7 episodes.
The story is about three bickering, greedy sisters that run an antique shop that discover a cursed monkey's paw that grants three wishes with devastating consequences. The middle sister makes a wish for money and, through the course of the episode, the youngest sister ends up getting killed by the older sister to get the money since the youngest sister gets money from inheritance. But when the middle sister finds out about all this, she uses her wish to have the oldest and youngest sister reunite with deadly results.
I have to admit I kind of liked this one. Might be one of the better Season 7 episodes. One reason was the chemistry between the three women who played the sisters. They definitely felt like they could be bickering, greedy sisters. The youngest one was cute and the oldest one looks like Helena Bonham Carter. It's kind of a silly tale, but like with other Tales episodes, it shows you the negative effects of being greedy. I do have to wonder why those sisters kept the body of their dead father in a coffin in their antique shop. But anyways, Season 7 has its clunkers, but I think this is one of the better episodes. But since this comes early in the season (like with the best episodes), I figured the odds were good for me liking it upon revisit.

I actually watched this one fairly recently as part of my Horror viewing this past October. Didn't really like it and found it rather boring, much like so many other episodes of this season. I'm hoping others from this season hold up better.
On a side note, that's a really good shot of the Crypt Keeper graphic icon in the top corner spot there. Most of the time you don't get a very good look at it.

I had a whole bunch of different Horror films and shows in last Halloween, including tons of TFTC ones. I had most of the ones from the first five seasons with a few of the ones from 6 and 7 I like.
From my memory of the Season 7 episodes I like or remember being good:
The Third Pig Horror In The Night Cold War Escape A Slight Case Of Murder
I have to see more. There may be another one or two that's okay but for the most part these five are the ones from S7 I remember being decent.

It's decent. Not one of the best by any means but enjoyable enough. I found it one of the more entertaining S7 episodes.

One of the better Season 7 episodes, right up there with Fatal Caper and About Face.
