Haven't seen it since at least the DVD release so I thought I'd check it out again. All I remembered was Martin Sheen playing three roles when I last saw it.
From the writer of "Se7en" comes the story of a desperate, homicidal, untalented magician who has previously killed his mentor, fired his assistant, and is looking to spice up his act. He encounters an elderly magician who has had great success with his Box of Death trick. After being amazed by the Box of Death trick, the untalented magician kills the elderly magician and steals his act. Later on, the untalented magician gets the Box of Death trick sabotaged by his former assistant and discovered his mentor and the elderly magician are the same person, alive, and ends up getting revenge on the untalented magician.
A good episode that's a showcase for Martin Sheen playing three roles and the first Crypt appearance of Billy Zane. Not one of the finest episodes of Crypt, but a fun Season 5 episode.

Good episode, despite its obvious shortcomings.

Decent episode. Not one of the best but a watchable and enjoyable one regardless. Martin Sheen is especially good in it.

One of the very first episodes I recall watching, back in the middle 90s on TV. Certainly a memorable episode with an excellent performance by Martin Sheen, even though it isn't quite explained how his character(s) ended up alive in the end after being 'killed" twice.
And yet another episode where I can't figure out what the title means.
