That's what it says at the end of this article on Season 7. Not sure how you can make these pictures bigger so the text is more readable, but I know this fact was mentioned.

I wouldn't be surprised if the lower ratings, poorer reception and Bordello Of Blood being a flop were factors in Season 8 not happening.

I'm kind of not surprised that there was possibly originally supposed to be an eighth season. However, unfortunately, as Crypt Keeper had pointed out, with the low ratings towards the end of the show and the bad reception for BOB, TFTC Season 8 never happened.
Such a shame. There were still many great stories from the comics that they could've adapted. I've been reading more of the EC Comics online as of lately and I can't get enough of them. There's a handful stories that I think would've been great for the show had they continued to make more seasons. Or at least one more season.

I think if the show ever get renewed there'd be a whole wealth of material from the comics they could still adapt. They could even adapt some of the episodes of the cartoon series, albeit make them more adult-oriented. I always thought While The Cat's Away from the animated series would've made for an awesome live-action episode.

If I recall, A.L. Katz and Gil Adler did an interview for Fangoria for Bordello and they say that the demographics and ratings were really good. However I believe the interview was during the 7th season, so they probably had no idea it would be poorly recepted. Then Bordello was released. In this interview posted by the OP, the producers felt that they wanted to do something different, especially since the first AMICUS Tales film in 72’ was made in England. They could also take advantage of actual Gothic locations that they didn’t have to construct in Los Angeles and get actors/actresses from overseas to be a part of the show cause hey couldn't fly out to the States.

I wouldn't be surprised if Season 7 saw a sizable decline in ratings and there was also the Perversions Of Science TV show that was unsuccessful. I read that show got made over an eighth season of TFTC.

I read that show got made over an eighth season of TFTC. Yeah. I guess they felt they exhausted what they could do with Tales and decided to try an anthology series tailored to the Weird Science and Weird Fantasy titles. Funny how the film Weird Science is an early pre-cursor for the comic adaptation. Perversions of Science fell flat on its face and then Tales got canned.

Season 6 itself also not being the best season could've hurt S7 as well. Maybe some fans and viewers were so disappointed with S6 that few of them bothered with S7 aftr that and the show was unable to recover. Sometimes one bad season of an otherwise successful show is all it takes to sink it after a successful run.

Funny how Yagher himself even mentions that the show was beginning to exhaust itself, which led to the films being made.
S6 had soe good episodes. Not the best but it had some good episodes.
There is actually a concept for S8’s first episode that I considered could have been handled.

You can tell the creative juice was depleting by Season 6. Which could be that the show was originally supposed to go up to only three seasons but got extended afterwards. They had enough material for two more seasons evidenced by how good 4 and 5 were (5 is actually my second favorite season after the legendary Season 2), but with 6 and especially 7 the tank was sadly out of gas. I think if you took the good episodes of both seasons and combined them you'd have a decent sixth and final season.
Do tell, definitely interested to hear.

Awesome, can't wait to see it. It's great getting all of this previously unknown information out all these years after the fact.
