Sad thing is the new Terminator has now cheapened the first two movies and rendered them moot with the stupid decision that was made in this newest film and all in the name of hopping aboard the train for this stupid trend, which does anything but promotes equal representation. Exactly. As I've said on the IMDb 2 boards, basically, concerning the retconning with DF, Sarah Connor got pregnant for no reason and John Connor was never important which are huge blows to the Terminator fandom and moviegoers. Because T1 and T2 are now a waste of time just like the original Star Wars trilogy had been all for nothing thanks to the events that happened in the Disney sequel trilogy. Sometimes, it's best to just leave well enough alone. I feel like playing the Mystery Science Theater 3000 end credits theme thinking about how these once great franchises are now RUINED and DEAD.

It's obvious and apparant as to why there wasn't a new Terminator sequel after T2 for so many years. Sometimes something needs to be left well enough alone. I think Terminator at this rate is beyond saving, especially since this had the direct involvement of James Cameron and it's still lackluster. Sometimes the original creator being involved doesn't guarantee it'll turn out good, unfortunately.

And this case has shown that even James Cameron has not only lost his touch but he also doesn't really care.

It's obvious the Avatar sequels are where his heart and focus are right now. I sadly wouldn't think him returning to Alien would much help that series, either.

Plus, I don't think that the Avatar sequels will be anything special anyway. The only reason the first film was so huge was due to the ground breaking technology a decade ago.

I wonder if the general public even remembers Avatar, it isn't a film that seems to resonate anymore these days.
It's still sad to see the newest Terminator not be successful, as it was a once mighty series and it's a shame to see it fall. I definitely don't see there being any more installments made but it's probably for the best as the storyline ran it's course and it's well dried up long ago.

If Avatar is mentioned, it's only the VFX they're talking about. Not the story or whatever the story was. Terminator: Dark Fate AND Doctor Sleep have proven to be serious disappointments. If you've seen DS, how was it? For me, I wanted to go see it but decided not to. I was trying to find any showtimes when I made the mistake of going on Common Sense Media. I went on that site to find out any content that the film has and that's where I found out some of the major spoilers and I didn't want to believe what I read. So, stupid me went on to Wikipedia to read the DS plot but perhaps it was better than feeling disappointed and upset leaving the movie theater. The ending is a MAJOR LETDOWN for me. They killed off Dan Torrance. And for some reason, that reminds me of how they killed off John Connor in DF. What makes it worse is that in both cases, they were technically being replaced by female characters due to this Gynocentrism and Feminism agendas. This also reminds me of how they treated and ultimately killed off Luke Skywalker in order to raise Rey to a higher status in TLJ. As a woman, I HATE seeing these beloved male characters being killed off and replaced with female characters for the sake of virtue signaling and social justice BS.

I have nothing at all against strong women characters but killing off males to replace them with women to appease this trend has got to stop. Sadly I see Marvel hopping aboard this train already.

INDEED. All this is doing is ruining the entire stories because it makes it seem like the journies of these characters, who happen to be male, were all for nothing. And yes, Marvel is unfortunately also taking this route as well. They've already given us several red flags that that's where they're going. I actually don't really want to see films like the previous Terminator films and The Shining anymore because of this.

Sad when a new sequel in a series ends up being so bad it actually retroactively hurts the previous films. That's why Terminator: Dark Fate did for me. Made the emotional crux of the first two absolutely pointless.

Exactly. The first two Terminator films are basically useless now! I have no desire to watch them anymore. Knowing what will ultimately happen to John in DF, T1 and T2 don't even matter anymore. The same can be said for the original Star Wars movies and The Shining. I would actually be fine if I NEVER watch any of these films ever again in this lifetime. That's how disappointed and let down I feel. All of what has happened in those films were ultimately all for nothing in these new PATHETIC films ( The Last Jedi, Dark Fate, and Doctor Sleep). And for what? Because Hollyweird wanted to bring in more girls and women to watch these films?! And girls and women were ALREADY WATCHING these films!!! Virtue Signaling, Feminism, and Gynocentrism had killed beloved male characters like Luke Skywalker, John Connor, and Danny Torrance.

I'm old enough to remember people asking when another Terminator movie was going to be made back in the 90s. There's the saying to be careful what you wish for and looking at how badly wrecked Terminator got after T2, that saying sure holds true.

You never know how what you wished for might turn out and you might it get it in the worse way possible.

All I know is I think Terminator was just fine when it consisted only of the first two movies and it really should've been left at that. Not every successful movie always needs endless sequels, sometimes one good one is enough and then time to move onto other things.
