It's pretty amazing how the EC writers managed to make Horror comics that were fun but also tackled much more serious and heavy issues in their crime comics, and somehow the TFTC show managed to work both in.
Helen's fate is definitely something of a double-edged sword. A horrible person who arguably deserves her fate but what happens to her is still absolutely horrific. You can't wait to see her get what's coming to her but when it happens the gruesome reality of what happened hits you hard and you're so flabbergasted by what you've seen you almost forget about her payback.
