DefunctlandI have a new favorite YouTube channel after discovering this just the other day and spending virtualy all day and night spending hours watching the various videos there on defunct or closed down rides and attractions. I've been on quite a few of the Disney and Universal rides featured, and watching the videos on the channel brings back a lot of great memories of childhood going to these parks and rides. I'd recommend watching this channel on a day off when you've got plenty of time to spare as trust me, it's easy to get hooked on the various videos on there.

Theme Park HistorySimilar channel I found, also covering defunct or discontinued rides and attractions. Watching so many of these videos makes me miss the old Universal Studios, I remember going to the Orlando one as a kid back in the 90s. A cherished childhood memory for sure.

I've actually watched some of the videos from that YouTube channel. They're pretty fascinating.

You get a whole new outlook on how theme park rides and attractions work and just how much effort goes into making them. Watching those videos makes me so nostalgic for old-school Disney and Universal.

Watching those videos makes me so nostalgic for old-school Disney and Universal. Indeed. Not to mention, it also gives you some insight as to what went wrong with some of these theme park rides and attractions for them to no longer be functioning. The information revealed in these videos is so interesting.

I'm still furious over the closure of ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter at the Magic Kingdom. I went a bunch of times as a kid back then and it was a terrifying yet awesome experience. I bet if it was brought back it'd be a big hit. I can understand when some movie-themed rides and attractions at Universal close down due to the films not being that popular or relevant anymore, but it's still sad to see classic rides like Jaws and Back To The Future no longer running when they were a big part of the old park.

Defunctland is still putting out new content but the owner of Theme Park History sadly experienced a loss in his family a few months back so there hasn't been new material from them for a while.
