What are your thoughts on the episode?
Well I think we're all in agreement that it's the worst episode of the first season. However, I don't think it's a terrible episode. It's watchable for the most part and better than some of the worst Crypt episodes. I think it's actually OK at first when the couple is making its way toward the house ready to enjoy their night together after settling in. But at some point, likely when the endless, silly sex scene happens, the wheels fall off the wagon and the episode kind of loses its footing. I think the "twist" is that the house has had a murder happen generation after generation from Amanda Plummer's family so the wedding night could be kept perfect after conceiving a child from sex. Do I have that right? I think Charles has some hallucination, likely the cause of the haunted house, which lets him see the killing from the previous generation of Amanda's family. Speaking of Plummer, I will give her credit for her crazed performance as Peggy.

Easily the worst of the first season IMO and one of my least favorites of the show in general. There's some nostalgia being that it's from the first season but it's overall extremely boring and feels like a chore to sit through.

I really hate this episode. Came the Dawn from season 5 always felt like a superior retread of it to me.

On the contrary, I do somewhat enjoy this episode. Not the best from this season, granted, but it has a lot of different elements to bring to an episode.
There was axe chopping murder, nightmarish visions, double agent like betrayals, and just a level of psyche that just makes ya think...”Holy shit”.

I just rewatched it not so long ago and while I agree it’s flawed and certainly not one of the best if season 1 I actually liked it. I’m a big Tom Holland fan but if I’m honest his episodes of Takes From the Crypt are a mixed bag. I think Four Sided Triangle is a terrific episode one of my favorites. King of the Road is not good lol but in fairness it was originally apart of the Two Fisted Takes pilot then when that wasn’t pick up they just made it a TFTC episode. Lover Come Hack to me falls in between. I like the ghost story aspect and how the sexuality aspect blends with it even though it’s done in a flawed way

I actually enjoy this episode. It was one of the first ones I ever saw when the show was first airing on HBO back in the day. It's not one of the best, but it's a pretty cool twist. I like the original comic book story (from Haunt of Fear #19) it was based off a little more, however. I feel like it made more sense.

I enjoyed this episode as well.. it’s flawed for sure but I’m a big Tom Holland fan so I guess I have some bias

It was one of if not the very first TFTC episode I ever saw, so I definitely have some nostalgia for it. I recall it was recorded on a VHS tape we had back in the day along with A Nightmare On Elm Street 4 and The Hidden. Memories
