This movie was a much-needed breath of fresh air both for comic book films as well as DC films. After how wildly uneven the DCEU has been they finally scored a major home run (even if Joker isn't exactly part of the DCEU). VERY TRUE!!!! Also, guess what. The film has made over $900 million worldwide!!!

That's insane, it's barely been out a month. I'm very happy for the massive success. It goes to show how an iconic character like Joker not only resonates with the general public but how they want him unrestrained.

It'll easily hit a billion at the rate it's going at. It's an absolute machine right now.

In addition to the box office, I also hope Joaquin gets nominations for his performance and wins every single one. His performance is one for the record books.

The Oscars have lightened up somewhated towards specific genre films in more recent times, so who knows. I certainly would've never imagined a film like The Shape Of Water ever winning Best Picture.

The Oscars were so anti-Horror for so long. They didn't want to acknowledge The Silence Of The Lambs as Horror when it blatantly is.

I honestly think Thriller is just a big, fancy term to describe a more realistic Horror film lik TSOTL, but at the end of the day it's still Horror.

At least they've been lightening up somewhat on genre films this decade, between The Shape Of Water winning big and also this cool tribute they did to Horror back in 2010:

If they would've done this now, the films they probably would've added are Get Out, It Follows, It, Hereditary, Us, A Quiet Place, and maybe Brightburn.
