This decade produced many fine Horror films. It'd be cool to see an updated tribute at the next Oscars. The movies you mentioned are all good choices for new additions, as would The Cabin In The Woods and The Purge films.

We can only hope. It was refreshing to see the Oscars finally paying respect and tribute.

We can only hope. It was refreshing to see the Oscars finally paying respect and tribute. Yeah. But knowing the Oscars, they're so selective and prudish. I wouldn't count on them to do another horror tribute. I'd be surprised if they do.

Even when they nominate Horror films they're still reluctant to acknowledge them as such, as they did with TSOTL.

Even when they nominate Horror films they're still reluctant to acknowledge them as such, as they did with TSOTL. You said it! They called TSOTL as a thriller instead of Horror. They even didn't want to refer Get Out as a Horror film even though it was marketed as such and director Jordan Peele called it Horror. It's ASININE AF. Also, if it wasn't for the Horror genre, Hollyweird would be struggling even more.

Horror has literally saved movie studios and the film industry itself sometimes during hard times, which is precisely why Universal is still standing today.

Horror has literally saved movie studios and the film industry itself sometimes during hard times, which is precisely why Universal is still standing today. THANK YOU! It's because of horror films is why Universal is still standing today. Horror may be the one genre that's so versatile that it leads to so many possibilities and opportunities that can save the entertainment industry. Let's face it. We love being scared.

I'd bet plenty of people in the industry are fans of the genre as well and it as a big influence and motivator getting them into the industry to begin with. It's a genre everyone at some point wants to dabble in, and one that's been crucial to keeping the movie business. I'd wager TFTC back then was a major reason HBO was going strong and is still standing today.

I'd wager TFTC back then was a major reason HBO was going strong and is still standing today. Absolutely! That's one of the main reasons why I say that Horror is the most versatile genre of all. It's something that surprisingly comes naturally to human being which is fear. In a twisted way, we love being scared. And I, too, strongly believe that TFTC was a major reason that HBO became the powerhouse it is today. It was a show that was cheesy yet legit, entertaining, funny, scary AF, and at times, thought-provoking. It had a little bit of everything that appealed to everyone who's interested in watching the show. But the basis of it was Horror which is one of the most appealing aspects of it.

It's a shame HBO practically never acknowledges TFTC these days. What does it say about it's last legacy that it's still talked about and revered.

They shouldn't be embarrassed by the show. The show was and still is AWESOME! People still talk about TFTC with fondness and it deserves the credit it deserves.

I wonder if HBO might even still be around and operating today if not for TFTC.

I wonder if HBO might even still be around and operating today if not for TFTC. I don't really know. But I would like to think that HBO wouldn't be where it is today if it weren't for shows like TFTC. TFTC left fans wanting more and it was the show that wasn't afraid to be cheesy and wacky because it had the quality and excitement to back it up.

The short-lived Sci-Fi anthology Perversions Of Science was largely part of the reason we never got an eighth season for TFTC. If TFTC had made it that far, would it have gone on somewhat longer? We'll never know. But it says something that HBO branched out with more anthology shows after TFTC.
