And sad thing is a PG-13 Deadpool series could also hurt Ryan Reynolds' comeback as he rebounded so strongly with both of the first two and because of Disney's BS what was a surefire hit for him could now be further ruination after he recovered from a string of box office bombs with Deadpool. Really a shame how Disney is essentally tarring and feathering the character and his actor like that.
The Venom movie was actually not too bad but you can tell it was initially shot as a much more violent film before the changes made to neuter it. It seems unlikely the original R-rated cut will ever see the light of day. After Deadpool and Logan showed there's an audience and interest for R-rated comic book films the fact Sony pulled this is just inexcusable.

It seems unlikely the original R-rated cut will ever see the light of day. After Deadpool and Logan showed there's an audience and interest for R-rated comic book films the fact Sony pulled this is just inexcusable. Don't be surprised if that happens. The Mouse fucks up EVERYTHING. Just look at what happened to Star Wars. And the MCU isn't too far behind. Disney is proving themselves to have the reverse-Midas touch: everything they touch turns to shit. And because of Disney and OUAD, I basically dropped Deadpool like a bad habit. I don't think I'll see any future films with him in it. Same goes for the X-Men. I've had enough the Mouse trying to own the entire fucking world and censoring everything! That's why I don't give a shit to even see Venom. Back when it was still in theaters, my brother kept trying to convince me to see it, and I kept going back and forth on whether I should see it or not. Ultimately, I decided not to see it. And sadly, my brother didn't go see it either because he wanted to see it with me. He didn't want to go by himself. I still feel terrible about that. But, after being so upset after finding out that we've been duped into thinking that it was rated R and they pulled the rug out from underneath us for the sake of the Almighty Dollar and to ensure that Spidey shows up in the future, FUCK NO! Can we stop talking about Venom? Just thinking about the whole situation is really upsetting me.

It blows my mind that they tried to make Venom without having him connected to the MCU and Spider-Man, but with the route they ultimately took maybe it's for the best. I hear you there, still pretty upset not to be pissed about how they handled the whole thing.
The situation over Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 is also infuriating for me on so many levels. I don't like James Gunn's jokes but he apologized for them and admitted they were in poor taste, yet he still got the boot.

I don't like James Gunn's jokes but he apologized for them and admitted they were in poor taste, yet he still got the boot. I'M BEYOND UPSET BY THIS. I'M FRUSTRATED AND SICK OF THIS CENSORSHIP BULLSHIT FROM THE MOVIE STUDIOS!!! THE ONLY REASON THEY MADE IT PG-13 WAS SO THAT THEY CAN BRING SPIDEY IN A FUTURE FILM OF VENOM'S WHICH IS KIND OF FINE ON ONE HAND BUT IT WATERED DOWN VENOM'S STORY!!! THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE LIED AT THE BEGINNING OF PRODUCTION IN SAYING THAT THE FILM WAS AIMED AT ADULTS, ONLY TO GIVE IT A LOWER RATING THAT'S AIMED AT CHILDREN A MONTH BEFORE THE FILM'S RELEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVEN IF IT WAS FOR THE BEST, THEY LOST THEIR FUCKING BALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND NO, I DON'T CARE TO SEE ANY FUTURE VENOM FILMS, EVEN WITH SPIDEY AND CARNAGE IN IT! I WAS FOOLISH AF TO BELIEVE THAT IT WAS RATED R AND BELIEVED IT WHOLEHEARTEDLY! I SHOULD'VE KNOWN THAT THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN! AND I DON'T REALLY TRUST THE NEW HELLBOY AND SPAWN FILMS TO BE AIMED AT ADULTS BECAUSE OF SHIT LIKE THIS! AND I DON'T GIVE A SHIT HOW GOOD IT IS. I CHOOSE NOT TO WATCH IT!!! I HATE BEING DUPED!!!!!!! Now, can we please drop Venom?! I know I'm getting overly emotional and pissed off but I'M TIRED OF THE CENSORSHIP OF FILMS GEARED TOWARDS OLDER AUDIENCES AND BEING DECEIVED FOR A YEAR BY AN UNRELIABLE MOVIE STUDIO. I'm starting to get burned out by superhero films since it's a lot of them are playing it safe. And I don't care about GOTG3 at this point. Gunn shouldn't have said those disgusting, heinous shit about children. Plus, storywise, even though I haven't seen IW, the way Star Lord behaved in that film made me NOT want to see the rest of the GOTG storyline. I should stick to horror films from now on. At least there's a variety of horror to choose from and a lot of them are aimed at older audiences.

It's good to see Horror is still sticking to what works for it at this point. 2018 was a surprisingly strong year for Horror between the new Halloween and some others like Upgrade, Hereditary, Hell Fest, Unfriended: Dark Web and even Goosebumps 2. I'm hopeful the success of the new Halloween will bring about a resurgence of the major Horror series.

2018 was a decent year for the horror genre. And yes, I also hope that the new Halloween film revives major horror franchises. I would love to see more Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Candyman films. A Child's Play remake is in the works, even though the original Child's Play series is still running. Also, the Pet Sematary remake is coming up and so is the sequel to It. I just hope those films are good.
Horror is the most versatile genre of all because the one emotion that it stems from is universal. And that emotion is fear. We all have various fears that come in many forms. Our fears can evoke all kinds of horror.

I absolutely loved the 2017 version of It and hope Chapter 2 is as good. I trust it will be. It: Chapter 2 is honestly probably one of my most anticipated 2019 films besides Avengers: Endgame and Godzilla: King Of The Monsters.
I'm iffy on the Child's Play remake but am keeping an open mind about it, though so far I'm not terribly pleased with where it's headed from what's been disclosed so far.

I know you're tired of me saying this but once again, sorry for the delayed reply. I certainly hope that It: Chapter 2 is a good movie. I'm really looking forward to that. I'm also looking forward to Jordan Peele's new horror film, Us. Have you seen the trailer for that film? It looks genuinely creepy. I'm also iffy on the Child's Play remake, especially with the original series still going on. Though, from some of the things I've heard about it, it sounds a little interesting.

Btw, concerning the superhero film situation with me, a little over a week ago, my brother and I went to see Aquaman and we ended up LOVING it. Then, a few days ago, we saw Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse and while my brother liked it, I wasn't feeling it. My brother wanted me to see these films with him and I felt that I owed it to him after I decided months ago last year not to go with him to see...Venom at the theaters.
The next superhero flick that we might see is Shazam which looks very interesting and funny.
I tell you. If it wasn't for my brother, I'd be pretty much be done with superhero films now. Especially with all of the bullshit that's been going with Disney about to screw up Marvel like how they screwed up Star Wars. I heard that Rob Liefied, the creator of Deadpool, stated that the X-Force movie is dead due to the Disney/Fox merger. Somehow, I'm not surprised by that because it was only going to be a matter of time before Fox's Marvel movie plans would get derailed by that damned Mouse. This most likely shows that any films dealing with Deadpool, the X-Men, and others will be neutered. Not to mention, Disney is heavily pushing the Captain Marvel movie to the point where people are starting to get turned off by the film AND the character. SMFH.
But with the recent success of Aquaman and Shazam seemingly being a promising film, I do have a little hope for the superhero genre. I hope that WB/DC learn from this and continue to make good quality and fun superhero films.

No worries, totally understandable if real-life has been occupying your time. I'm hopeful It: Chapter 2 is worth the wait. Watched Chapter 1 recently last weekend and it still holds up really well. Not see the trailer for Us yet but will check it out. I enjoyed the director's prior Get Out and definitely look forward to more from him.
I saw Aquaman as well and quite enjoyed it, though it felt overlong to me and had so much excess CGI I feel I need a break from CGI-heavy films for a good while after it. But it wasn't bad overall and in some ways better than expected. I'm hoping Disney doesn't screw around with Marvel too much but sadly it seems the meddling has just begun. Captain Marvel I'm 50/50 on, as it's a character long overdue for her own movie finally, but I'm worried they'll try to jump on the annoying women empowerment bandwagon and try to push an agenda. I'm not anti-woman in the slightest, but this has definitely been an annoying trend and I fear they'll ruin both Captain Marvel and her movie if they opt to go that route and it seems unfortunately that's where they're headed. They're missing the point with classic heroines like Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor that it wasn't their gender that made audiences love them, they were simply well-written and engaging characters that people of both genders could easily side with.

They're missing the point with classic heroines like Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor that it wasn't their gender that made audiences love them, they were simply well-written and engaging characters that people of both genders could easily side with. I know you're going to get EXTREMELY sick and tired of me saying this but once again, sorry for the delayed reply. I thought that the CGI in Aquaman was great but I get what you're saying. CGI can't always look 100% perfect all the time. And having seen it twice now, there were some moments where it looked a little fake but not too distracting. It didn't take away our enjoyment of the film. When films have fake or dated visual effects yet they have great stories and great characters, you'll forgive the odd visual effects because good quality is what ultimately matters. For me, it felt like an old school adventure film that kept you enthralled. The acting was great from everybody in the cast, the story was the usual hero's journey yet it was extremely well executed and the action scenes are surprisingly BADASS! Unfortunately, Captain Marvel has been plagued by toxic social justice propaganda. In the last couple of weeks, I've been paying attention to the film's promotion and I'm annoyed and disgusted by it. It's basically Feminism on steroids for crying out loud!!! The film's lead, Brie Larson, comes across as off, unlikeable, and insufferable, and people are growing sick and tired of her SJW crap. Every time she opens her mouth, she just pisses people off more and more. And what's worse is that Disney is encouraging her bad behavior and has doubled down by heavily promoting this film as if there's no tomorrow. Rotten Tomatoes even took down their audience score for the film because the score was getting extremely low! It was at 26% when they took it down, and a lot of people say that Disney was behind this. To be honest and call me a conspiracy theorist but I absolutely agree with those who think that because as of lately, Disney has been acting absolutely totalitarian when it comes to this movie and is trying to censor those who have different opinions from them. And they seem to forget that they're already on thin ice after what they've done to the Star Wars franchise. For them to continue to do this is inconceivable. I'm definitely not going to see Captain Marvel because of all of the drama surrounding it and there are many people who are flat out boycotting the film. It makes me concerned for Avengers: Endgame because she's supposed to be in that as well and they seem like they're setting her up to beat Thanos without the help of the others(I could be wrong about that). Btw, did you see the new Hellboy trailer? There have been two that been released already. The first one was released around my birthday back in December. A lot of people didn't like that trailer because it felt too goofy and off-kilter in terms of the tone of the film. I personally loved the first trailer, though. For some reason, people think I'm crazy when I say that I enjoyed the first trailer. Lol! The second trailer was released on March 1st and people liked that one better. It was the red band trailer since the film is officially confirmed as rated R. I also loved this trailer.

It's no worry. If you've been busy in real-life I completely understand, I've been busy and occupied in my personal life, myself.
I look forward to giving Aquaman another look and see how it holds up to a rewatch. I thought it was enjoyable enough on the first watch despite being overly long and the excess CGI.
I expect Captain Marvel to get an extremely ugly and divisive reaction right off the bat as soon as it's out and to become the internet's most talked about movie and not exactly for good reasons. It's a shame as the character is overdue for her debut in the MCU but I'd hate to see it ruined by them taking a hardcore feminist approach, which unfortunately looks to be the approach they're taking. They miss the point as to what made characters like Ellen Ripley, Sarah Connor, Laurie Strode, etc. so likeable wasn't their gender but they were well-written and well-portrayed, and had believable and admirable qualities to them that regardless of gender you could easily like them. They happened to be female, but that isn't why people liked them. Unfortunately they really seem to hammering across an agenda with Captain Marvel. In the trailer when it showed the word "hero" and it drops the O so that it reads "O" it was definitely hard not to groan. I'm still hoping to be pleasantly surprised by the film but it's hard not to have expectations low.
I saw the Hellboy trailer and I'm definitely sold on it. While Ron Perlman is missed as the character, David Harbour is looking to absolutely nail it and is proving to be a worthy successor so far. The fact they're going for an R-rating is promising too, and I hope it does decent business as I'd love to see R-rated comic book films come back in fashion.

I hope everything's great in your life as well. I hope you'll enjoy Aquaman even more on the second viewing. Just like any other film when you watch a second time, you'll start to pick up on things that you didn't notice on the first viewing. Exactly! It's getting extremely ugly with Captain Marvel. The reviews that have been coming out are absolutely mixed, to say the least. A lot of people are just not feeling that film and the drama concerning it continues to grow. There are even rumors of Marvel having two cuts of Endgame in case Captain Marvel does poorly at the box office. I absolutely agree. Ron Perlman was AWESOME as Hellboy. Hopefully, David Harbour is AWESOME as Hellboy as well and from what I've seen so far from the trailers, I love what I see. I think he'll knock it out of the ballpark. I was sold on the movie from the first trailer and the second trailer enhanced my interest even more. I also hope that it does decently at the box office. I definitely want to see more R rated comic book films. In fact, at least half of comic book films should be rated R while the other half should be rated PG-13. That way, there would be a variety for everyone.

I look forward to seeing it a second time. Aquaman was long overdue for his film debut and while it could've been better in some ways it surely wasn't a bad start. The fact he's such a different character provides some much-needed freshness as well besides just retreading Batman or Superman again which DC had been doing for so long.
I do truly hope to be pleasantly surprised with Captain Marvel and that it turns out better than expected, but so far I'm not feeling it. The character is one who's been overdue for her MCU debut but you can't help but worry they're going to badly botch it. Going for the "girl power" approach is an absolute no-no. Unfortunately so many female-led films these days feel the need to bludgeon you with an empowerment agenda rather than just simply be a good film with a compelling cast of characters regardless of gender. If the movie underperforms or even outright flops then Marvel is wise to have a plan B for Endgame. I too don't want to see a rookie like Captain Marvel be the one to single-handedly defeat Thanos, the fight against him should be a team effort and especially since it's likely to be the last stand of some flagship Marvel heroes. I want to see them taking Thanos on as a team, not Captain Marvel mopping the floor with him all be herself.
Hellboy will be up against some stiff competition but hopefully it does decently and we get a resurgence of R-rated comic book films. There's some characters who absolutely shouldn't be neutered to PG-13 levels and it's great to see they opted to go for a full-blown R-rating with Hellboy. If it's a success hopefully it sends a message that audiences and fans alike want more mature comic book films amidst the usual family-friendly ones. So far the new Hellboy looks really good and hopefully it delivers. I get the feeling it will.

It's about time to give Superman and ESPECIALLY Batman a break and let other DC superheroes have a chance to shine. WB did very well with Wonder Woman and they pleasantly surprised a lot of people with Aquaman. Hopefully, they'll keep this up and continue to make good quality films with the other DC heroes. I heard from test screenings for Shazam that the film is good. Boy, from what I've been seeing lately, Captain Marvel is getting destroyed by people online and websites like Rotten Tomatoes are still trying their hardest to defend it all costs(THEY REMOVED OVER 54,000 REVIEWS FROM THEIR WEBSITE JUST BUMP UP THE AUDIENCE SCORE). IT'S INSANE! As you said, it's like they don't know how to make proper female-led films without beating us over the head with the female empowerment situation. Sheesh! They need to worry about making good films instead of pushing an agenda! That's one of the biggest things I'm concerned about when it comes to Hellboy. As you pointed out, the film is up against very stiff competition and I don't know if it'll hold up against other new releases. Especially since a lot of them have the PG-13 rating. That and I hope the film doesn't have way too many cliches and actually does some things differently in a well-executed manner, and is hopefully a genuinely good film at the end of the day.
