I recommend Extreme Prejudice(1987). It has a stacked cast of awesome character actors that you would probably recognize but it’s a great violent action thriller that they would never make anymore. No cgi, no dumb advertisement, just greet entertainment

I've heard of Extreme Prejuidice and have been curious about it. It's getting a Blu-ray release soon as part of the Vestron Video Collector's Series, which has released excellent edition of many genre films.

Yup I don’t collect Blu-ray’s that much anymore but I may pick up that one because I love that movie and they sure don’t make them like that anymore. Vestries does do a good job. They used to be a independent movie production company in the 80’s

I picked up the Blu-ray of it relatively recently and will be giving it a watch soon.
Vestron distributed a lot of good genre fare back then. Seeing their logo always makes me nostalgic for sure.

That’s Great. Vestron is probably best known for producing Dirty Dancing but some of my favorites of theirs that I watch as a kid were Waxwork, Little Monsters, and Sundown A Vampire’s Retreat. I do miss those indie film companies if the 80’s. Hemdale was another one which produced films like River’s Edge and Miracle Mile which funny enough would probably fit into the Tales from the Crypt/Twin Peaks vibe

Love Waxwork and Little Monsters, both were favorites of mine back then. Such fun memories of catching them on TV. I probably most remember them for distributing The Monster Squad on VHS back then. That VHS was such a big part of my childhood.

Monster Squad was another one of my favorites. I still remember watching Teen Wolf and Monster Squad back to back one day must have been 89 or 90. I remember scrambling to find a vhs tape to record it

I still cherish my Monster Squad Blu-ray I got back in 2010, which is now out of print and goes for a hefty sum. Here's to it getting a new release at some point.

Yeah I remember getting it the first day it came out I believe in 2006-07. It was when Blu-ray’s just started coming out.

A new version soon would be nice, especially with this year being the 35th anniversary. If you haven't seen the Wolfman's Got Nards documentary I highly recommend it, it covers so much of the film itself and it's lasting legacy.

Yup I was able to catch that. I think it was directed by one of the kids. Can’t think of his name but I think it’s Andre.

Andre Gower. It was a very good documentary and it's awesome seeing how TMS has had such a long lasting legacy and fan following. It was a hit after the fact.

It’s a shame Fred Dekker didn’t make more films. He only did 3 but they were all box office failures at the time which doomed his career as a director even though two of them are now cult classics

Sadly RoboCop 3 destroyed his directing career, which is a shame because he's talented and I can only imagine what else he would've made had his directing career been more successful. He was involved with TFTC a fair bit during the earlier seasons and the one episode he directed (The Thing From The Grave) is pretty good. He should've directed more episodes.

Yeah the decision to make Robocop more kid friendly was a big mistake. Robocop is a R Rated franchise
