Yes Rambo films are fun. Last night we watched Sorry, Wrong Number(1948). Great thriller/film noir with an ending they would never make today Sorry for the late reply. My family and I were dealing with the ice and snow storms. Yes, the Rambo films are fun. Though, to me, not only are they fun. They are surprisingly thought-provoking. I've heard of Sorry, Wrong Number but never seen it. I might check it out . . No problem hope you are doing well. The first Rambo film I loved. I agree it was t just an action movie but was about PTSD and being pushing to the breaking point. The sequels were fun but not as thought provoking as the first. I think you will like Sorry Wrong Number. Noir is my favorite genre because there are no winners which sadly is more realistic

I enjoy all of the Rambo films and thought the most recent one was quite enjoyable, and I respect that it was a hardcore R-rated Action film that didn't hold back.
It's still funny to think back in the 80s Rambo had both an animated series and toyline aimed at kids.

Yeah can’t really beat those 80’s and 90’s action movies. Today’s r rated action movies look like video games and go for laughs more than anything

Things like digital blood and gore don't help, either. Looks so fake and easily noticable. You watch Action films made back then where in-camera effects were used, it gives it so much more power and impact.

Absolutely. I just rewatched Robocop recently and forgot how bloody it was but that was part of the fun with those edgy r rated action films

The original RoboCop is even more violent in the unrated cut, particularly with the deaths of Murphy and Kinney, and there's a bit of extra gore in Clarence Boddicker's death as well. It's also pretty astounding to think such a violent and decidedly not family-friendly film like that got an animated series and toyline. Goes to show how popular and far-reaching a film like that was back then.

It still blows my mind how The Toxic Avenger of all things got an animated series and toyline, given that the films are anything but family-friendly.

The other night I rewatched Malice(1993). It’s another one of those R rated Hitchcockian thrillers they made in the early 90’s which had a lot of twists and femme fatales. They really don’t make movies like that anymore. The only one I can think of in the 2000’s era is Gone Girl

Lately I’ve been on a 90s thriller kick. Last night I rewatched Bad Influence (1990). It’s kind of like Fight Club mixed with strangers on a Train

At my Wal-Mart they always sell out quickly of the new Predator toys there. They must be quite popular and sought after. It's still amazing to me how in 2021, toylines based off of R-rated films aimed at kids is seemingly becoming a thing again.

I remember as a kid the I had the predator toy, robocop, and I think John Mcclane from die hard. Even though they were rated r films back then they tried to promote the kids toys more innocently

I don't think Die Hard or the John McClane character ever had toylines aimed at kids, but NECA did a John McClane figure many years ago.

Yeah I might be wrong. I remember having some kind of McClane figure because I loved Die Hard but it might have not actually been a kids toy

I'm kind of surprised Die Hard didn't get a toyline back around the late 80s or early 90s, it was certainly popular enough.
