Honestly I’m not a huge fan of remakes of horror movie classics. They never work out well except in rare cases

John Carpenter's The Thing is a major exception, as is the 1988 remake of The Blob. I think Hellraiser has a lot of untapped cinematic potential for it to be soon to be remade.

Yeah The Thing although I honestly never have considered it really a remake tbh just a more faithful take on that story “Who Goes There”. Invasion of Body Snatchers also is a very good remake

I think I've seen the IOTBS remake but it's been so long I'm not so sure if I remember. Speaking of Hellraiser, recently on eBay looking for Horror shirts I found this hilarious piece of fan art crossing over Hellraiser with Winnie The Pooh of all things. Twisted yet funny. |

Yeah you should check it out. You may even find it better than the original. It’s certainly darker

I own many of their titles, along with titles from other special labels like Arrow, Vestron, etc. it's great seeing so many genre titles get special treatment like that.

Yeah Arrow is good. One of the last ones I bought was Artows release of Alice Sweet Alice (1976)

Speaking of Arrow I own the Scarlet Box Blu-ray set which has the first three Hellraiser films. I don't know if it's officially out of print now, but it's a Limited Edition and commands pretty astronomical prices online by now. I'm glad and grateful I got it at a good price not long after it came out.

Apparently the remake will be airing on Hulu and they already have Pinhead casted, and for whatever reason Pinhead is being changed to female. I don't see the need for a gender swap, which seems like it's being done for the sake of it. But I'll be keeping an open mind. I'm hoping we'll get some form of the original continuation at least with the HBO series. Pick up at least from Hell On Earth.

They surely do. The original was made during the height of practical effects in the 80s and you can tell. You just can't beat effects that are in-camera and actually unfolding.
