Yup I love practical effects and hate cgi

Same here. I don't mind when CGI is both realistic and used sparingly when needed (like in Jurassic Park for the full-sized dinosaurs), but when it's used for everything then it becomes annoying. Digital blood/gore to me is absolutely inexcusable.

Agreed. The digital blood is so hokey looking

Any sort of digital blood always immediately distracts me and takes me out. There's never a reason for it at all. I miss the Tom Savini era of the blood effects being done in-camera and looking as realistic as possible.

Pinhead was recently confirmed to be the newest licensed villain for the game, Dead By Daylight. This is pretty awesome news, here's to hoping he comes to Mortal Kombat next. Dead By Daylight looks like a cool game, but game consoles and the games themselves are so expensive and it's hard for me to justify spending hundreds of hard-earned dollars on it all. Especially since I'm not a huge video gamer these days.

The Hellraiser HBO series is still in development, and the remake on Hulu is underway. He was also recently added as the newest licensed killer for the video game, Dead By Daylight.

I watched the last three current films so far just recently (Hellworld, Revelations and Judgment) and wow, how awful all three were. The decline in quality the series had after the fifth film is enormous. Doug Bradley didn't even reprise Pinhead in the latter two films and to be honest I'm glad he didn't, they didn't deserve his talents. All I got to say is Hellraiser can only go up after how terrible those three all were. I honestly feel like marathoning the first 3-5 movies all over again, to be reminded of what a good Hellraiser film is supposed to be.

Yeah after the first two the quality is pretty awful

I honestly am a big fan of the third one. But I think the first five movies in general are solid (even with the obvious flaws the fourth one has), but after that it's a steep decline in quality. I can only hope the remake and HBO series will both be infinitely superior.

Found that on the same monster mask blog I found the Crypt Keeper masks I posted in the main forum. That Pinhead mask there isn't the best, but back in the day it probably worked fine when you just wanted to go as Pinhead for Halloween. On that same blog they had these pages with some obvious Hellraiser-inspired masks as well: The "Say Ahh" mask definitely evokes Chatterer for me, like they were riffing on that character without trying to outright copy it. The Strapped mask reminds me of that weird bondage/fetish mask Joey has put on her face in the third movie. The Metal Head mask in the second image is a very obvious Pinhead homage.

Personally not a fan of it. If it’s good then fine but Historically horror reboots/remakes haven’t been that successful

Remakes/reboots are hit and miss, but there's been some good ones for the sure. The 80s remakes of The Thing, The Blob and The Fly are prime examples of excellent remakes. I honestly even liked and enjoyed the 2019 version of Child's Play.

Yeah the ones from the 80’s like the Fly and The Thing are the rare exceptions that actually surpass the original

The 1990 Night Of The Living Dead remake was a good one, too.
