Happy 30th anniversary to Hellraiser III, it saw release on this day way back in 1992. It's one of my favorite movies in general, not just my favorite Hellraiser. Unfortunate it shares a date with that terrible occurance that happened in 2001 but of course at the time back in 1992 nobody foresaw what would happen nearly a decade later.

I always found Hellraiser 3 to be pretty decent. Definitely the last decent one in the series.

You can tell the filmmakers actually cared about it and were putting in effort. Contrast that with so many of the later films which were made solely to keep the film rights.

It was directed by Anthony Hilckox who did the Waxwork Films

I like the Waxwork films, he also directed Warlock: The Armageddon. I like his directing style and he would've been a good director for TFTC back in the day.

That trailer is far more enjoyable than the likes of Revelations and Judgment for me. Definitely has the same kind of ambience and aesthetic as the first two movies and I'm digging how the Cenobites look, familiar yet different.

The new film on Hulu has been mostly well-received. I don't get Hulu so am hopeful it'll get a physical media release at some point. I always much prefer to physically own something and not stream it.

I agree streaming is still weird for me. All My life I’ve collected vhs then dvd then Blu-ray’s. Plus I always love special features

Same. I especially enjoy seeing production footage from the shoot and how the filmmakers accomplished things like special effects, stunts, etc. and then comparing the raw footage with the actual movie. It's fascinating to me. Especially with many Horror films and older ones from back in the day.

It’s funny i remember when it used to be so hard to find a certain film you wanted to see. If you couldn’t find it in the video store you had to find some vendor who sold it this was back in the vhs days. I remember my grandfather had to shell out almost 199 bucks to find and order Taking of Pelham 123 and The Seven Ups on vhs from a video vendor in California. Now you can get those easily on bluray or streaming

Those were the days. I still miss video stores and going to the Horror section and seeing all the scary VHS cover arts. As a kid it felt like a rite of passage to see if you were brave enough to go to the Horror section of a video store and see if you could stand looking at the cover arts. A lot of scary VHS covers back then for sure.

I finally saw the new Hellraiser, it wasn't bad. Not great but decent, and a big step-up from the number of not-so-great later sequels. I give credit it didn't try to xerox the original and did it's own thing.

The first two I enjoy. The third had done decent moments. After that I either haven’t watched or haven’t finished because they were so bad lol

The later ones definitely get pretty awful, especially Revelations and Judgment. The new film is a masterpiece compared to those two.

Yeah very true. The first two were connected and had the same feel to it. Obviously having most of the original cast helped
