Maybe for the best. I wonder if the reaction to the trailer was so negative maybe the people involved with this are re-thinking how to go about it. If the trailer was any indicator it doesn't feel TFTC-like at all and missed the mark as to why the HBO series was so good.

You know what? They should just scrap the entire project altogether and be done with it!
I wish HBO could do the reboot. But that's wishful thinking.

If this was on HBO and a good percent of the original team was back I'd be so much more optimistic for this.

If this was on HBO and a good percent of the original team was back I'd be so much more optimistic for this. You and me both! That would be beyond awesome!!! If we could get the people who run HBO, Joel Silver, Robert Zemeckis, Richard Donner, David Giler, and Walter Hill onboard again for a reboot, then perhaps TFTC can return to HBO. As long as it's done properly, then it'll most likely bring back that charm that it had back in the late 80s and early to mid 90s. And if John Kassir returns as Crypty, that would be perfect.
Besides, there are still A LOT of stories from the EC Comics that deserve to be adapted into episodes. I've read some of the EC stories that I could find online, and they are enthralling and worthy enough of adaptations. I mean, using original stories(possibly ones from Creepypasta) for the TNT reboot? Get the hell out of here! The TFTC fans aren't here for that.

There's still plenty of unadapted stories from the original EC Comics that deserve a good adaptation in a proper TFTC show.

There's still plenty of unadapted stories from the original EC Comics that deserve a good adaptation in a proper TFTC show. Exactly!!! There is a great amount of wealth of stories within the EC Comics that they can adapt like Foul Play, Taint The Meat...It's The Humanity, The Silent Treatment, etc.

And of course the infamous Foul Play.

And of course the infamous Foul Play. Yes! I would love to see that story get adapted.
Though, imho, I've read some of the EC Comic stories that are a bit more disturbing and gory than even Foul Play.

It's pretty amazing how graphic a lot of the original EC Comics are. Granted the violence is done in a comical fashion but still.

Exactly! It's astonishing how a lot of these stories were graphic and violent during those days. I would read through some of these stories and go, "WTF?! Damn! No wonder the 1950s parents hated these comics." LOL!
Here's a link to where I've read some of the EC stories in case you have the free time to check it out.

It probably is a rights thing though. If they can't get the rights to using the original CK puppet, maybe they also can't get the rights to the EC stories.

Which makes you wonder why they're even going ahead with this to begin with. No CK puppet and no rights to the original EC comics, so it doesn't have that authentic TFTC/EC feel to it.

Totally! Why bother in making a TFTC reboot if you don't have the rights and access to the EC Comics and the Cryptkeeper puppet?
What they should probably do is scrap the project altogether and make an original horror show in its place based on the Creepypasta stories and other original horror stories.

I think the same. If they're aiming to make their own original Horror anthology type of show with obvious inspirations from TFTC than that's fine. But this bears no resemblance to TFTC as I know and love it.
