Dark Phoenix has already been yanked from so many theaters and left mine about a week or so ago. The studio has nobody but themselves to blame for their mishandling for sure. Exactly!!!

I don't expect it to fare much better when it hits the home formats. It's a major flop and loss no matter what.

Maybe deserved in a way though as it's a harsh lesson to studios to not meddle with films and the filmmakers who put so much time and effort into them.

Movie studios are going to soon get enough of meddling with films and filmmakers. Unless the filmmakers are having trouble with their films, movie studios need to allow the filmmakers' visions to come into fruition the way they were meant to be and not tamper with the writing. Sometimes, you need to learn the hard way before you actually get it right.

Sadly between this and also the poor adaptation in The Last Stand, it's doubtful anyone will attempt to adapt the Dark Phoenix storyline ever again. Third time might be the charm but I don't think the filmmakers will want to chance it.

Especially if they can't do it properly.

It's such a complex arc and needs to be at least a two-part film to really be done justice. With how disatrous DP performed I'm sure it'll be off-limits for the studio for a long time to try to adapt it again.

It would probably have to be done similar to Infinity War and Endgame, even though those films ended up being such huge messes story-wise. But I think they should leave the story arc alone.

At this rate unfortunately trying to adapt DP spells doom for anyone attempting it. I recall the 90s animated X-Men show did a good job of it, but then again it had multiple episodes to really properly adapt it.

Maybe they should leave it at that.

It's just such a shame the original pre-MCU X-Men series couldn't have ended on a better note. They really should've let Logan be the end of the line.

I think Logan was a beautiful and emotional capper for the original era of the X-Men and while I was sad to see it end at the same time it also left me hopeful for when they officially enter the MCU. DP sadly ends things on such a half-assed, blah note that in a way feels like it undoes the closure and impact of Logan.

I've seen bits and pieces of Logan on HBO, and I absolutely agree that it was a beautiful and emotional capper for the original X-Men era. That film should've been the ending, not DP.
