I think more Horror-oriented comic book films is a good way to keep the genre fresh and viable, too. Much as I enjoy major spectacle and event films like The Avengers, those do get tiresome after sometime and more Horror-oriented fare is always a good way to keep it fresh. Plus so many people who go to Marvel and other comic book films are also Horror fans, so it ends up as a win-win when you've got a film that's geared towards both the Horror and comic book fanbase. EXACTLY!

It reminds me how I'd like to see the new Batman film canon be more Horror-oriented, re-imagining Batman and his world as a straight-up Horror movie. Batman is very much rooted in Horror and has so many villains like Man-Bat and Killer Croc that translate well into Horror.

Batman is very much rooted in Horror and has so many villains like Man-Bat and Killer Croc that translate well into Horror. Same here! Batman and horror surprisingly go hand-in-hand. In fact, the Mystery and Thriller genres go extremely well with Horror. The suspense can be backed up by a sense of dread and fear. Batman comics throughout the years, especially if you know where to look, have provided that sense of suspense, dread, and fear. There were even some scenes in any of the Batman films that were horror-like and Nightmare Fuel. For example, in Batman Begins, Batman sprays Dr. Crane's fear serum onto him and made him hallucinate seeing a black, demonic-looking Batman. That scared me silly! Yeah, a Batman Horror film can surely work. Even though this is wishful thinking, I'd like to see a film adaptation of "Batman: Damned". If that film was made, it would HAVE TO BE rated R. And young children wouldn't be able to see it, unless some of them have parents who just don't care, because of the adult themes and horrifying events and imagery that occur. Though, since Batman is an extremely popular character with children, it seems like making an R rated Batman movie is not in the cards. Then again, Wolverine is also popular with children and he ended up getting a successful R rated movie. So, perhaps anything's possible. But if they do decide to make an R rated Batman movie, they have to make sure to tell children that though the film features Batman, it's a film that they're not old enough to see just yet because of the adult content. Or, the children can watch it with the supervision of their parents.

That to me seems like the logical next step to have Batman evolve in him. Perhaps if The Joker film is a success we may get an R-rated Batman film down the line, which the character could surely benefit from. Logan and Deadpool have shown audiences both like and want R-rated comic book films, and Batman seems like he's next in-line to get the R-rated treatment, and he surely should be.

Batman would definitely benefit from an R rating. Just as long as it's done right and as you said, Logan and Deadpool have shown that audiences crave more R-rated comic book films. I hope The Joker film becomes a success. I heard that it may make over $100 million when it opens in October.

That's a big win for R-rated comic book films if it does that. Here's to hoping. I'm getting more and more intrigued about the film as the release gets closer.

We shall see come next month. Sounds like it'll open big for both October and an R-rated film.

I hope it's not only a success but is also a good film. Going by the early reviews, it's very good.

If it's a success I wonder if we'll see more villain spin-off films and more importantly, R-rated ones that do their villains justice with no restrictions.

Which could include a proper R-rated Suicide Squad movie that more than amends for the 2016 debacle.
