When a film is a success the studio will always want to keep it going with sequels, so I'd bet good money Chapter 2 is far from the last we'll be seeing of Pennywise. I'm all for It: Chapter 3 and even a sequel. As you said, throughout King's work, Pennywise's survival and return has been heavily implied. Venom indeed felt extremely neutered and you can tell the PG-13 rating put it in a bad spot. I'm so happy they opted not to do that with Joker. Even as excellent as past portrayals of the character have been between the likes of Heath Ledger and Mark Hamill, it always felt like the character was never as dark as he should be as he was in the comics, and it's excellent that's finally been remedied. A character like Joker who's a complete maniac who's committed unspeakable crimes should not be neutered. Totally! If they do decide to make Chapter 3, I hope that it's a good story. And I heard that even Bill Skarsgard is interested in returning as Pennywise. I totally agree. The Joker as a character onscreen has always felt a little held back. But in Joker, they didn't hold back any punches at all and I'm glad. Unlike Sony, Warner Bros. hesitantly gave the okay to make an R rated Joker film and it ultimately paid off in more ways than one. Joker is now almost at $800 million worldwide!!! THIS FILM IS A BEAST!!! IT'S THE BEAST NOBODY THOUGHT WOULD BECOME SO POWERFUL!

That's awesome Bill wants to return as Pennywise. What Chapter 2 hasn't been doing as well as Chapter 1 it's still profitable and with numbers like that I'd imagine the studio will be hard-pressed to say no to more films.
I'm in awe that Joker has been that successful. It's become the highest-grossing R-rated film of all-time. Shows that audiences and fans alike want these characters edgy.

And yes, Chapter 2 isn't as successful as Chapter 1 but it definitely still did good enough. With both films combined, the It Franchise has over $1 billion worldwide. I hope that Chapter 2 won't be the last time that we see Bill as Pennywise. And speaking of someone wanting to return to a potential film series, it's also awesome that Joaquin Phoenix and Todd Phillips want to do a sequel to Joker. I think that both teams of It Chapter 2 and Joker deserve to return for any potential future sequels.

Very good news on both fronts. I'm all for more It and Joker sequels as long as they're good. The way Joker ended totally leaves the door wide open for more sequels. It's great that Joaquin wants to reprise Joker again, I read he'd been wanting to do a comic book film for a long time but didn't want to sign a multi-film contract. I can easily see Joker as a trilogy.

I'm actually genuinely shocked that Joaquin wants to reprise his role even though it's his decision and he deserves to, seeing as to how he's done a MAGNIFICENT JOB. I didn't know that he wanted to do a comic book movie for a long time. I'm glad that he finally got his wish and it paid off in spades and then some.

There's the saying everything happens for a reason and one can't help but feel Joaquin was meant to turn down other comic book films in favor of Joker.

And the best thing about this is that Joaquin Phoenix seems really enthusiastic about Joker and is willing to expand the story of Arthur Fleck even more.

It's always awesome when an actor has appreciation and respect for an iconic role. I'm very eager for the sequel and to see more of Joaquin's Joker in action.

Hopefully we also see a resurgence of R-rated comic book films. There's clearly a market and audience for them.

With Joker's massive success and acclaim right now you'd think R-rated comic book films would be the thing.

I hope that's the case. It would encourage people to not be scared of R rated comic book films and R rated films in general.

I as well. There's still so many comic book characters that would benefit from an R-rated cinematic treatment.

Totally! Lobo is long overdue for a film adaptation and the R rating would fit PERFECTLY.
