With Lobo, it's an R-rating or nothing.

It's asinine to even think of making a PG-13 Lobo film, let alone actually doing it.

It's asinine to even think of making a PG-13 Lobo film, let alone actually doing it. Especially after Joker's $1 billion box office victory.

There's no excuse or justification whatsoever for the more edgy and mature comic book characters getting proper R-rated film adaptations at this rate, none whatsoever. Between Logan, both Deadpool films and now Joker.

Spawn is another. It's still asinine to think the 1997 Spawn film was PG-13, given not just the graphic violence of the comic but also the dark themes. I know an R-rated cut of it was later released, but still. With characters like Spawn, a family-friendly rating and approach is always a big no-no.

Even though I like the film okay, it should've been R rated. You and I have said this many times before. Whenever you water down or tone down a property that's aimed at adults to appease children, you're going to get crappy results.

It reminds me of how Mortal Kombat, a game series infamous for it's over the top graphic violence, got two PG-13 live-action films and even an animated series aimed at kids. Ugh. MK should definitely never be watered down. I'm so happy the upcoming reboot will be rated R and properly depict the infamous fatalities.

For them to make the previous two Mortal Kombat films rated PG-13 shows how GREEDY and DENSE movie studios are. But let's hope that the R rated MK reboot is a good movie. Also, I read somewhere that the Deadpool movies, of course, inspired them to finally make an R rated Mortal Kombat film. And again, since Joker had proven that R rated movies CAN make BIG BUCKS, they have to be crazy to make another MK film rated PG-13.

There's no excuse whatsoever for another PG-13 MK movie. The next MK movie should be just like the games it's based off of; dark in mood and with insanely gory violence and fatalities that rival splatter movies. I never really liked the 1995 MK movie for that reason, despite a lot of people seeming to like it. Even as a kid it didn't sit well with me seeing how tame it was compared to the games and how it got neutered to be more family-friendly when the games weren't like that.

If you make a PG-13 Mortal Kombat, may as well also make a PG-13 Doom or Grand Theft Auto or Resident Evil movie while you're at it... or not, don't want to give anyone reading any ideas.

I'll give credit the Doom and RE films were at least R-rated, but they still should've been much more faithful and respectful to the games they were based off of.
