I miss going to theaters. It's been something I've been used to doing regularly. Drive-ins are experiencing a resurgence in popularity. I've always wanted to go to one.

Drives ins are cool. I’ve gone to many over the years. I went to my nearest one a couple times the past month or so

There's not many where I live (Las Vegas), but it wouldn't surprise me if there's a big increase in them soon with them being a safer alternative to a traditional theater.

Yeah I’ve only been to Vegas once but I remember one being there but I forget where exactly. I’m in NY and my nearest one is about an hour away in the middle of nowhere 😂

Some of the hotel/casinos in Las Vegas like The Orleans have a movie theater.

The theater at The Orleans has probably been closed down due to the pandamic.

Yeah every theater closed quickly. There are some who are using the outside of the tester as screen and using a projector but nothing inside. I’ve gone to the drive in a couple of times but like I said it is an out ride as opposed to the 5 minute it took me to get to my theater

I wouldn't be surprised if more drive-ins open up with so many theaters being closed indefinitely. Theaters can't remain closed forever and yet at the same time with this virus it's still too soon to have them open and running like they used to.

I wonder if drive-ins could even become more permanent in light of this? I don't see why they couldn't co-exist alongside more traditional theaters.
I'm fed up with people who refuse to wear their masks in public. At the grocery store I work at yesterday, two customers made a big stink over not wearing them. One pushed his shopping cart into one of the registers and stormed off, muttering swear words as he did. Another said he had a medical condition and couldn't have the mask over his nose, and he proceeded to get all dramatic saying he had a medical condition and saying he could die and going on about how he thinks the virus is a hoax. Ugh.

Yeah that’s interesting about drive ins. Ironically before this happened most people under 30 probably didn’t even know what drive ins were 😂. But now they are the only theater chain operating. I agree about people not wearing masks. Look I don’t like them either but I don’t bitch and mosn about. When I have to go to work or out in public I wear it. That’s just the way it is right now. I’ve also seen people get very nasty and over dramatic about having to wear it. Plus they also have the face guards people can wear if they really hate the masks. Sadly people are still getting together in large groups. I think I mentioned here about a month ago I heard somewhere they had a big pool party like morons and I believe some of the people there did get sick so there you go. Some people just dont want to listen

I always wanted to go to a drive-in as a kid. They seem fun and like a different way to have a theatrical film-going experience. I'd imagine they're much less common in big cities like New York City, where I was originally born. I remember in NYC there's movie theaters all over. I live in Las Vegas now and theaters are pretty common around here, but there's more room for drive-ins as well.
I hate wearing masks but it's got to be done for safety. I'd rather have to put up with the discomfort of mask-wearing than get the virus and die a slow and painful death from it. It's ridiculous seeing the fits people throw on YouTube when you look up people getting upset over the mask-wearing.

I live right outside NYC. Yes there are theaters all over but my closet drive in is a hour away in Warwick,NY. I got to that one a few times every summer and went there already a few weeks back. There are a couple in Jersey too. But yeah nothing super close

I moved with my family out of NYC in 1998, but I remember when I was living there there were theaters all over. Especially in the heart of the city, every other block or so you could easily find a theater.

Yeah. I loved NYC back in those days. Used to go all the time. Now it’s terrible for the most part
