Absolutely. With TFTC it was clear the directors all got to tell the stories they wanted to with their respective episodes.

Who are your favorite directors from the show?

There were so many good ones it's hard to list, but Walter Hill would be up there for sure. There's some TFTC directors who did some of my favorite episodes who sadly directed little to nothing else, which is a shame.

Television Terror is my absolute favorite episode of the show and it's a shame Charles Picerni didn't direct more often. I thought he showed much talent and effectiveness at creating a very scary, ominous mood and atmosphere with that episode.

Yeah I think he was a stunt coordinator too. He directed a couple films but I haven’t seen them and they are very low rated

I just rewatched this episode and enjoyed it. It was one of the shorter episodes but effective.

It's an easy favorite of mine. It's kind of a shame it isn't recognized all that often though it's usually well-received.

It’s one of the highest rated on IMDB and other reviews I’ve seen

It never really seems to get the same level of recognition as some others though, despite it's positive reception. Then again TFTC had so many excellent episodes during it's run some are bound to overshadow others.

Yes many Great episodes fall through the cracks. Maybe because the director isn’t well known or even the cast.

It's pretty amazing looking at the list of directors the number of high-profile ones the show had. Many of them usually don't/didn't dabble in Horror.
It's a shame Kevin Yagher never directed more. I enjoyed both Lower Berth and Strung Along, and he did a good job on the Crypt Keeper segments of the earlier seasons. I guess he got burned out or soured on directing after his difficult experiences making Hellraiser: Bloodline.

Yeah I always love finding directors who did some good work but never directed again for whatever reason. One of my favorite movies of all time is the “Night of the Hunter”(1955). It was directed by actor Charles Laughton but was so devastated by the lack of success the movie had at the time he never directed again. In the years since it came out it has become a classic

Putting up with studio interference can also probably sour somebody on wanting to direct again. It has to be frustrating to have your creative vision compromised and not be accurately represented in the finished film.
