PetitionFound this on Reddit. I signed it. Petitions are rarely successful, but it never hurts to try. TFTC needs to be on Blu-ray and needs an HD remaster so badly. I'd gladly pay top dollar for a good-quality Blu-ray release.

It's a shame we didn't get it last year for the 30th anniversary. Would've been such perfect timing.

Yes that is a shame. Maybe with streaming the blu ray market has taking a step back. I used to be a avid collector of Blu-rays but have t purchased one in a long time mostly because of streaming. The only thing that streaming doesn’t have us special features which I personally love

I much prefer to physically own something as opposed to streaming.

Yes I’m old school like that too. Hell I was still watching VHS well into the DVD age. I loved going to the video store and finding a movie to rent. Those are all gone now.

I miss the days of video stores, especially going to the Horror section. While streaming is a good option, it's not the same feeling as actually walking into a store and spending time finding movies to rent.

Oh I agree. I was born in 83 so I was active during the “video store craze”. Of the 80’s into the late 90s. Even into the early 2000s as well. I remember going on a Friday night or Saturday going into the store and going through every genre. Action and horror were my thing then and they always had kickass video covers. I would get my movie, some popcorn, and right next door was my pizza place/Italian restaurant so I could literally get everything I needed literally within a few feet from each other. Great Times!!

I was born in the later 80s, but still remember video stores and renting from there. It was sad seeing so many of them close down. The era we're living in is both a belssing and a curse, in the sense it's great having such an easy and wide selection of films to stream, but it doesn't have the same feeling as going to a video store and taking your time to see what they have.

Agreed. Obviously with the pandemic I’m glad we have streaming because my wife and I have been able to watch a lot of movies even older ones that we haven’t seen or ones we haven’t seen since we were kids. But yeah nothing beats the experience of the video store.

I'd love to have it, but the studio probably thinks there isn't enough demand for it.

TFTC has a larger fanbase than they might think. I bet if it hit Blu-ray it'd sell very well.

Yes it’s got a big cult following. Although sometimes there are licensing issues and stuff. Not sure if they have any of those issues but it happens sometimes.

From what I understand Gaines' estate is extremely difficult to deal with. That might be a factor.
