In TFTC there are a few Western themed episodes that are really well done. In Particular Showdown and Carrion Death. These episodes are pretty well received by TFTC favs so that got me thinking are there fans who are fans of the Western genre? The Western genre really died out in the 70’s but once in a while we get have gotten a good one since then Like Unforgiven(1992). I remember when I was really young I found them boring but my grandfather was a huge John Wayne fan so I watched a lot with him. As I got older I enjoyed them much more and found many of them to be pretty deep. The John Ford Westerns like The Searchers, Shane, and even the spaghetti westerns like the Dollar Trilogy and Once Upon a Time in the West.

Westerns are a genre I've been meaning to check out more of. I watched a fair amount back in the day as a kid, but as I got older I just sort of forgot about them.

Yeah it’s sort of the forgotten genre for people who are younger than 50. Like I mentioned as a kid I thought it was just “cowboys and Indians” type of thing but there are a lot of great Western dramas out there. Even films like No Country for Old Men, Hell or High Water, And even Near Dark are modern day westerns

I'll certainly have plenty to give a look when the time comes. I always enjoy discovering older films that have eluded me over the years.

I recommend High Plains Drifter. It’s a western that has some horror/supernatural undertones

I've heard that. I always enjoy discovering older films that have eluded me over the years, so that one is definitely on my to-see list.

I rewatched Winchester 73 last night with the legendary Jimmy Stewart. Definitely a darker/serious Western even for the 1950’s. Highly Recommended
