It’s funny I had no memory of the day after until I spoke with my father about it. He had stayed in the city overnight at his precinct and my building was condemned after WTC 7 collapsed which it was right next to but when he came hope I was sitting on our deck. You can see a view of the city in the distance. We just sat in silence, shared a beer. He put his hand if my shoulder for a minute and then went inside. I don’t know why I forgot that maybe it was too emotional but now I remember it clearly all these years later
