TFTC was notable for having many A-list actors and actresses during it's run, many of whom usually don't do Horror. However there were still some actors and actresses who flew under TFTC's radar. Which ones do you wish had been in episodes?
Robert Englund is one I'll always be sad never did a TFTC episode. The man is an absolute Horror legend and him being involved with TFTC would've been the coolest thing. It's surprising he was never in an episode back then, and especially since Kevin Yagher who created the Crypt Keeper puppet was also heavily involved with the Nightmare On Elm Street series and had a good working relationship with Robert. IIRC, a number of TFTC personnel also worked on the Freddy's Nightmares TV show, where Freddy was a host much like the Crypt Keeper. It would've been the coolest thing if Robert actually reprised Freddy in a wraparound segment with Crypty and co-hosted an episode. How awesome would that have been?
Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator, From Beyond) is another I would've liked to have seen. He would've been a great fit for TFTC. Especially as Re-Animator itself is very much like a TFTC episode and it feels like it could've easily been a precursor to TFTC that the makers of the show used as a template. Funny enough, both Robert Englund and Jeffrey Combs were in episodes of Masters Of Horror.

Donald Pleasence- Mostly known for the Halloween Series but also did some Argento horror films and the underrated sci fi film THX 1138. One of my favorite character actors. I think he would have been great in a TFTC episode

Absolutely. I would have loved to see Robert Mitchum on there as well. He is my favorite actor probably ever. I think he has played two of the best villain roles of all time in Cape Fear and Night of the Hunter. Granted he was older by the time TFTC stated and died in the middle of the run but it would have been cool

I watched The Dead Zone the other day for the first time (awesome movie), and it's a shame Christopher Walken never did an episode. He would've been a great guest star and with his unique acting style he would've surely been a standout.

Who knows if we may have gotten Walken among some others had TFTC gone on longer.

Having watched some of the ANOES films lately as part of my Horror viewing, I'm still so sad Robert Englund was never in an episode. I think had Poetic Justice from the 1972 movie gotten a new adaptation for the HBO show, Robert would've been perfect as Grimsdyke. Could've totally seen him in the role for a new adaptation.

The mention of John Ritter (R.I.P.) in the topic about actors playing against type reminds me how great he would've been in an episode of the show. Really wish he'd done one. He did voicework in an episode of the TFTC audio series, but it would've been far better seeing him in an actual episode of the show.

Absolutely. I never watched the show but my wife was a big Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan and she said one of her favorite episodes featured John Ritter so he would’ve fit perfectly in TFTC

I think you meant Buffy.
John Ritter did his share of Horror and suspense, having been in the 1990 It mini-series and also in Bride Of Chucky. He was a good fit in anything.

Yeah typo lol. I mentioned him in another thread. My favorite film of his was a little known sci-fi comedy called Real Men

Don't think I've ever even heard of that film. He was very good in everything and could easily jump from genre to genre. I wonder if TFTC had gone on for another season or two if he would've eventually appeared on it.

Robert Englund, Donald Pleasance, Christopher Walken, and John Ritter are some awesome choices.
The actors and actresses that I can think of at the moment are Sam Neill, Doug Bradley, John Malkovich, Warren Beatty, Angela Lansbury, Alicia Silverstone, Glenn Close, and Nastassja Kinski.
