As a big fan of both TFTC and Are You Afraid Of The Dark, I would've loved to have seen a crossover of the two with the Midnight Society collaborating with the Crypt Keeper to tell a story (I know that wold've never happened with TFTC not being a family show, obviously). What if the MS somehow found the Crypt Keeper's mansion and entered and of course found the crypt, encountering Crypty. Who knows how that would've gone down. In my mind I like to think the MS' hangout spot in the woods wasn't far off from Crypty's mansion.

You know which episode of another show has the feel of both a TFTC and AYAOTD episode to me? The Match Game from Monsters (EXCELLENT episode too BTW, easily on par with the best TFTC and AYAOTD episodes). I could totally see this story having been a collaboration between Crypty and the Midnight Society. Even though it isn't as I said, it has elements of both shows in it.

It's scary AF! And yes it does remind me of both TFTC and AYAOTD. It has elements from both shows.

I'd imagine a story that's a collaboration between Crypty and the Midnight Society would've been very similar to that. It's a great episode and there's others of that show too that were very good, with some on par with the finest of TFTC and AYAOTD.
I always got to wonder how Crypty and the Midnight Society would've interacted with each other. With Stig being the outsider of the MS, I could've seen him relating to Crypty on somewhat of a personal level.

Also, it would be hilarious if by the end of the episode, the Midnight Society would quickly skedaddle once Crypty tries to kill them or do something morbid to them. LOL!

Crypty is so sly, you just never know what he's capable of no matter how likeable he sometimes come off as.
One MS member I see getting along well with Crypty is Betty Ann, given how strange she can be and with her stories having a macabre edge. I bet she and Crypty would get along very well.

That's why the Midnight Society have to think fast before Crypty might do something to them. Or they turn the tables on him much to his pleasure because he loves it when he gets phys harmed. Lol! Yeah, I think Betty Ann and Crypty would probably click.

He sure does, like when he shocks himself in the electric chair or shoots himself. He's already dead, which is probably why he's always unharmed whenever he commits violence against himself.
I bet Crypty and Betty Ann would come up with a story, something very dark and strange.

I bet Crypty and Betty Ann would come up with a story, something very dark and strange. Absolutely. And it's always amusing to see Crypty do all of that to himself because they're mainly played for laughs. I wonder what kind of dark and strange story that Crypty and Betty Ann would come up with? It has to be a mixture of TFTC and AYAOTD, and has to be slightly toned down due to the AYAOTD kid audience.

The Match Game from Monsters always struck me as sort of an honorary episode of both TFTC and AYAOTD, and I could imagine a story Crypty and the MS come up with being very similar. Of course with it being a TFTC crossover perhaps AYAOTD would be given license to go into more mature territory.

I always did wonder how AYAOTD might've been had it been more adult-oriented.

Some AYAOTD episodes definitely border on mature territory at times, which I think is part of the reason the show has aged so well and still holds up as an adult. It's like it was made with both children and mature audiences in mind.

I also remember seeing some of AYAOTD episodes and thought that these episodes were quite dark and mature which definitely drew me in. As you said, that's probably one of the reasons why the show still holds up. It appeals to children as well as adults.
