Surely some here grew up with Nickelodeon back in the day. The day when they were actually a good, quality network that aired so many amazing shows that made cable well worth paying for and a network where it was easy to spend endless hours watching all your favorite shows. I can't think of the 90s and not think about the massive impact Nickelodeon had on it back in the day. So many wonderful shows of their's back in the day I was a fan of including:
Are You Afraid Of The Dark? Salute Your Shorts Rocko's Modern Life Hey Arnold Ren & Stimpy Aaahh!!! Real Monsters Rugrats Doug The Angry Beavers Kablam Legends Of The Hidden Temple Guts Figure It Out Nick Arcade Double Dare All That Clarissa Explains It All
I even loved Nick, Jr. back in the day with great ones they had like Rupert, Papa Beaver's Story Time, Little Bear, Eureka's Castle, Allegra's Window, Muppet Babies, etc. Such an amazing network back then. I miss the Nick of the 90s along with other networks that were good back then like MTV, VH1, Discovery Channel, etc. Along with TFTC such a tremendos part of my childhood.

Oh. I can't tell you how much I miss the 90s Nickelodeon! THAT WAS MY CHILDHOOD!!! THAT RIGHT THERE WAS MY CHILDHOOD! All of the shows and cartoons you mentioned will ALWAYS hold be dear to my heart as well as those who've watched these shows in the 90s. Watching them brings back great memories and makes feel like a kid.
Say, did you know that Teen Nick had been showing old Nickelodeon cartoons and shows on a late night block called 'The Splat' for the last few years? Well, it didn't start out as being called 'The Splat'. It was called 'The 90s Are All That' and was then changed to The Splat like two years ago, I believe. And I make sure I at least stay up to catch at least one cartoon show that I enjoyed when I was a child.
I just wish that 'The Splat' was a whole channel instead of a night block. I don't understand why they won't make it a whole channel. Are they scared that it's probably going to be watched more than the Nickelodeon channel they have now? They shouldn't.
And yes, Nick Jr. was AWESOME in the 90s as well!

I heard about The Splat. Sadly I don't receive Teen Nick but I've been seriously considering it just for The Splat. I agree The Splat should just be it's own channel, just have it be a retro Nick channel for the 90s-era audience and have the old 90s bumpers during the commercial breaks. They should also bring back Nick GAS where they showed reruns of their game shows (why the Hell they'd axe that network? Ugh) and a retro Nick, Jr. channel also since the current one only shows their newer stuff.

And how could I forget from my original listing:
Kenan & Kel Roundhouse What Would You Do? You're On Gullah Gullah Island
Then again 90s Nick had so much great programming it's easy to forget some.

As usual, exactamondo!!! They really need to make 'The Splat' a whole channel and make a retro Nick Jr. channel. I mean, do Nickelodeon think that people will stop watching the current channel and watch these channels more which is the reason why they won't make a whole channel? I'm sure that there will still be a lot of children that still watch the current channel. But their viewers from the 90s need their own channel of all of the cartoons and shows we enjoyed.
I agree about Nick GAS. I've always wondered why it disappeared all of a sudden.

YES! Kenan & Kel and Gullah Gullah Island were my all time favorite shows! You know, I would get teary eyed whenever I'd listen to the song of and look at the intro of Gullah Gullah Island.

I hear you. When I look at the old intros of those shows and look at the old commmercials and bumpers that aired back then it's impossible not to get emotional and yearn for those days again.

Even looking at the old commercials make me a little emotional. I really do yearn for those days again and feel sad with the way TV is nowadays.

I still can't fathom how and why Nick went so badly downhill after the 90s. I get times change but that didn't mean the quality had to.

I believe that there are several factors that caused Nickelodeon's downfall after the 90s. Still, it's a shame that it collapsed the way it did. The quality should've been maintained and not squandered.
