This is kind of a part 2 to my Any Film Franchise Character Deaths That Hit You The Hardest thread and poll. This one is about the minor and secondary characters who've managed to have a lasting impact on not just the main characters, but to us as well. Now, it's one thing to be devastated over a main character's death due to building an attachment to him or her. But being devastated over a supporting character's death is another thing. Especially if they appeared for a brief amount of time yet they made a huge difference in the main character's life(even saving them). Though, we may know little about them, we get to know them as the main character gets to know them and can see that their intentions are good. They would go on to help the main character in his or her journey in various ways. Then, when they die or get killed, it's kind of shocking and painful for the main character AND us. This shows that at times, depending on the portrayal and impact, even the minor and supporting characters are adored.
I couldn't think of five choices for this poll this time. So I came up with three.
Feel free to add any character I may have missed.

Rue and Yinsen definitely hit me hard.

Yes!
Especially Rue. Her chemistry with Katniss was great and adorable. These two girls were contestants from different districts, of different ages and different ethnicities, forced into an underage death battle. Yet, they connected so well out of all of the other tributes, most of whom clearly despised Katniss. Besides Peeta, Rue was really the one that saved and inspired Katniss. She inspired her to keep fighting.
I can kind of say the same thing about Yinsen. Like Rue, he saved and most likely inspired Tony. Not only that. He also played a role in humbling Tony, if you really think about it. Notice the change in Tony after he'd escaped and was rescued.

Absolutely. I can't imagine those films without those characters and those powerful moments.

Yes. And what's still so amazing is that these characters were in the films in such a brief amount time, yet they somehow left an impact.
In the beginning of Iron Man 3, when they showed the flashback of Tony when he was a serious playboy, he bumps into a guy who turns out to be Yinsen. Now, when I had first seen that, I admittedly was like, "Yinsen?!", in the theater with tears briefly welling up in my eyes. Also, thinking back to that brief scene and Iron Man, it's amazing how it seems as if it took one man, A STRANGER, to kind of make Tony re-think his womanizing, careless lifestyle. Think about it.
Btw, in case you don't know who Hikuc is, the third character I put in the poll, he's the Native American man who helped Hugh Glass in The Revenant. Have you seen The Revenant?

IMO, though it's debatable, I think Leonardo DiCaprio deserved his Oscar for this film. There were times where I had completely forgotten that it was even him.

He's come a long way since his Titanic days, that's for sure.

He's come a long way since his Titanic days, that's for sure. You said it! He's always been a great actor. But in The Revenant, he really, really tapped into serious depths in order to make his character believable and convincing.

It's still amusing to think he started out in Critters 3. Always amazing to think of the still strong careers many have had since starting out in Horror.

Whenever you get the chance to see The Revenant, you'll see what I was talking about in terms of the character, Hikuc, who helps Leo's character in the film. Oddly enough, Hikuc's name is never mentioned but it's in the credits.
Back to Rue and Yinsen, these are the two characters that I can think of that manage to make the most of their brief time onscreen and made an impact.
