Very odd this happened. No idea if it's down for good or if it went down for maintenence. Seems it's down for good with the mention of it's deletion.

Well I'm sure we're all hoping it may just be some glitch or a temporary thing. Would be odd to have it just disappear out of nowhere after almost six years.

It's very odd and also unfortunate that people there who were close friends may have lost touch. I know there's a similar forum to the old IMDB one called Moviechat.org, some of the IMDB/IMDB2 users are probably on there.

There's at least that and also Moviechat.org which I think actually recycles a lot of assets from the original IMDB forums.

The previous site is in the process of being restored and renamed (IMDB v2.3) under new management in its old site address.

Wait a minute. What exactly happened to IMDB v2.2? I haven't been there in a very, very long time. It got shut down out of nowhere, but thankfully it was restored after a few days and is now IMDBv 2.3. You can go there now if you'd like. We also have a "sister site" IMDB1.

It has been one year since this happened. It didn't last too long, but at the time, we thought the place might have legitimately been gone for good. At first, some of us thought it was an April Fools prank until we realized something was wrong. Thankfully, it got restored after a few days.
A shame though that some of us weren't able to return there, but those who haven't been able to return are on our "sister site" IMDB1. Some of us double up by posting on IMDBv 2.3 and on this "sister site" as well: imdb1.freeforums.net/board/21/film-reviews-general-discussion |
