It's actually pretty amazing they acheived the stunts they did with the small budget they had. You can see the influence in modern movies like The Fast And The Furious series.

Fast and the Furious copied s ton of movies that had smaller budgets than those films The Wraith, No Mans Land, Point Break

The way Packard dies in it is straight out of a TFTC comic or episode. You can totally hear the Crypt Keeper making one of his usual puns and jokes about it.

Forgive me if this has already been brought up but I think The Gate kind of has a TFTC feel to it as well.

I love The Gate. The use of lighting and colors at times definitely has a bit of an EC Comics flare to it.

I love The Gate. The use of lighting and colors at times definitely has a bit of an EC Comics flare to it. I haven't seen the entire film but I've seen clips. It's on my list of 'Movies to See' list. You're right that the lighting and colors in the film sometimes have that EC Comics look and flare to it. Especially since the main characters are children. If you go back to some of the original EC Comics stories, the main characters were children. It's kind of a shame that the show only had like one episode where the main characters were children, "Undertaking Parlor".

There was also The Secret, which is one of the only other episodes to feature a child lead. I guess with the show being intended for mature audiences they didn't want it to be too focused on kids, which is understandable. So funny how later on the show led to an animated series and Crypty got merchandised and advertised to kids.
Having rewatched the first two and seeing the most recent one, I forgot how the original Candyman is actually kind of EC Comics-like at times as well. Particularly with the use of colors in some shots and also the dark ending.

I just rewatched some of the Final Destination films and forgot how they're quite EC-like in some ways, particularly with their dark endings. I definitely get something of a TFTC feel from the Final Destination series.

I recently saw the first time time the film Dead & Buried (which has a pre-Freddy Krueger Robert Englund in an early role) and it's very EC-like in some regards, particularly with the dark twist ending.

Dead and Buried is a good movie that’s barely talked about

I own the Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray from Blue Underground. It's loaded with special features and even includes the soundtrack CD. Very good film. I wouldn't be surprised if the makers grew up being EC comics fans and they were influenced when they wrote it.

I recently watched the 1989 Horror film, The Dead Pit, and it feels very EC Comics-like. You'd swear it may have originated as an issue of a comic like TFTC or The Vault Of Horror. I could totally see Crypty delivering opening and closing monologues for it. The film is basically a twisted hybrid of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, A Nightmare On Elm Street 3 and Re-Animator (never thought I'd mention those three films together in the same sentence).
