I'm not sure if he's ever mentioned anything about being a TFTC fan in any interviews. He did dabble a bit in Horror before with him being one of the lead roles in 1989's Shocker. I wouldn't be surprised either if he was a fan of the show. Perhaps how TFTC-like VBT is was his way of essentially doing an unauthorized episode of the show, as VBT came out in 1998, two years after TFTC's run ended.

Some of those are good ones. I didn't even think about Event Horizon but that definitely has a bit of a TFTC vibe to it in hindsight. Funny thing is the episode Horror In The Night has the wraparound segments with Crypty in the space rocket, which would've been very fitting for a wraparound for that film.

The recent Hereditary (excellent movie BTW, one of the best Horror films I've seen in a long time) reminded me of TFTC in some regards. It's not very EC-like but there were aspects that gave me a bit of a TFTC feel to it. Particularly the ending.

Having watched this last night on my DVR after it recently aired on HBO, I definitely see the TFTC similarities. It almost feels like it originated as a Shock SuspenStories comic that didn't get adapted for the show but instead got made into a full-length film. Hey, dude! Sorry for staying away for quite a while. Lots of things been happening in my life and I've been kind of busy. But, here I am. I read your post and decided to look up info about Very Bad Things and you're absolutely right. It definitely has TFTC-like qualities. It's a perfect fit and I haven't even seen it yet.

-Death Becomes Her -The Others -The Skeleton Key -American Psycho -What Lies Beneath -Thirteen Ghosts -The Cabin In The Woods -Get Out -Event Horizon -The Craft -House on Haunted Hill Great list! A lot of those films are each a perfect fit to be TFTC episodes. Since seeing Get Out, my mother and I have always thought that the film would make a great TFTC episode. Especially the way it ended and the morality behind the film. Btw, I just want to welcome you here.

Earlier this morning, I was channel surfing and came upon one of the Cinemax channels which were showing a film called Guilty as Sin. It stars Rebecca De Mornay as a lawyer defending a guy who's on trial for murdering his wife and she ends up becoming a dangerous obsession to him. Right away, I felt that the film had some TFTC-like qualities and characters. It seemed as if it would fit into one of those TFTC mystery episodes of the show and would probably be a story within the Crime SuspenStories of the EC Comics.
What do you guys think?

Welcome back Understandable if you've been busy with things in real-life, I relate to that all too well. Juggling two jobs throughout the week takes a ton out of you. I remember seeing Guilty As Sin years ago on cable but don't remember it that well. But your post definitely has me intrigued to seek it out and re-visit it someday.

I hope you're holding up well with your two jobs. Me? I'm dealing with a mixture of me doing my freelance work in hopefully creating a good business for myself and family stuff concerning my mother having surgery on her arm. She's doing okay now but she's still recovering. Oh, I wish you also had Cinemax. The film occasionally comes on there. Though, hopefully, it'll show up on HBO at some point.

Best of luck to your mother with her surgery, hope she gets better. Good luck with your business as well.
I get HBO but not the other movie channels. I'll upgrade to them at some point once I earn some more money. The cable bill gets quite expensive so right now I'm trying to keep it low.

My mother had already had her surgery back in April. But she's still recovering from it. I understand. We have DISH. We get both HBO and Cinemax. I certainly hope you upgrade soon.

Hopefully she recovers more quickly. I'm sure recovering from surgery isn't an overnight process.
I use Cox cable and as much as I'd like to get all the movie channels it makes the bill too much. Once I start earning some more money. I still get all the HBO channels and get plenty of good programming from there.

My mother is still having some trouble lifting her arm all the way up. So, yeah. It's a work in progress. Oh, I see. Once you earn enough money at some point, I hope you'll finally get all of the great programming you want. Also, even though I've never seen the film yet, I agree about the film, Hereditary. It seems as if would contain some TFTC-like qualities.

Good to hear she's making some progress, hope she continues to make more.
It's kind of hard to talk about Hereditary without spoilers, but there's definitely some very TFTC-like aspects of it. I wonder if the director is a fan.
