Between 2005 and 2007, Warner Home Video released DVDs for all seven seasons of the HBO-aired (and produced!) series Tales from the Crypt. And, although some sellers (like Amazon) sometimes sold all seven season sets together as a "7-pack," there's never been an official studio-released package with the entire run of the show.
Now VideoETA, a website produced by home video distributor Ingram Entertainment, shows that on June 6th Warner will release Tales from the Crypt - The Complete Series on DVD. It's priced at $169.99 SRP (which comes to less than $25 per season, and that's even before sellers subtract their discounts!).
Amazon.com has a listing for the title, but it's not accepting pre-orders just yet. There's no other info yet, nor package art, but stay tuned. Our thanks to reader Jackson Burnett for spotting this item!
Thanks to AndrewHNPX for the heads up!

I feel like the old dvd sets were more or less a slap in the face to the fans; not even giving us the damn intro on the first two seasons and a half-assed, lazy approach to special features. If this new set is a big improvement, I'd consider getting it.

If it has new special features I'll consider buying it, if not I'll stick with the first seven seasons on DVD. Still wish it'd be a complete series Blu-ray release as the episodes can really benefit from an HD remaster and clean-up.

Assuming the price sticks, you guys are willing to pay $169 for a bunch of special features and to have an extra set of discs for each season?

It all depends. Most of the DVD sets are lacking with the special features.

Here's the artwork. The $169 price tag stands although I'm sure you can buy each seasons individually and only pay half-price altogether. The box set is available June 6th.
Thanks again to Andrew!

Any word on special features? Nothing new and exactly the same discs as before?

Any word on special features? Nothing new and exactly the same discs as before? No word yet on special features. I'm getting the feeling we'll get the exact discs as before but in one big package here.

I'm getting the feeling we'll get the exact discs as before but in one big package here. That's exactly what I'm thinking. It wouldn't kill them to record a few new commentary tracks to sweeten the deal and also maybe throw in the two movies and the Perversions of Science episodes.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're simply re-packaging all the previous DVD releases into one package either and would wager good money that's exactly what this'll be. I still wish we'd get a good complete series Blu-ray release someday, as the episodes can really benefit from an HD remaster and clean-up.

I don't think Warner Bros. wants to waste time/money on remastering the show and putting it out either in a new DVD edition or on Blu-ray.

It's a shame, I bet a complete series Blu-ray release would be a strong seller.

I don't know how well the DVD sets sold, but if they didn't sell as well as hoped, then I don't think the Blu-ray set would sell any better. But you never know.

Perhaps this new DVD set is them testing the waters to see if the show still has longevity and popularity nearly three decades later before they proceed with new material.

The DVD box set just came out on June 20th. Here's the back of it. As expected, it looks like the previous season DVD discs repackaged.
