I got to wonder if originally the producers of the show planned to have an actor physically portray the Crypt Keeper before opting to go with the animatronic puppet. They made a wise move to go with the latter with the excellent puppetry from Kevin Yagher's crew and John Kassir's voice-acting, but I wonder if initially Crypty was supposed to be portrayed by an actor in make-up. Perhaps both for budget and comfort reasons the puppet was more favorable to all involved.

Well the Cryptkeeper was portrayed by an actual actor in the 1972 film, although he was more of an Emperor Palpatine-like figure than the character from the series.

The Crypt Keeper in the 1972 movie is vastly different from both the comic book and television show versions. He was effective and eerie in his own right.

In "Fatal Caper", CK says he has British heritage and yet his parents are a two-faced carnival freak and a mummy. This was season 7 episode one, which is (I believe) when they moved the production over to England, so it may have been a little in-joke to the new filming location. However, I can also see the English coming from Enoch! Intriguing and fascinating thoughts guys! I enjoyed perusing this thread, and am excited to watch the movies Asap, also haven’t in years!

A thought that's recently occured to me about the show is why the first season was so short compared to the subsequent ones. I guess it was because HBO wanted to test the waters first to see how it'd fare and when the first season was an instant hit (both ratings-wise and with the reviews), it was a no-brainer to make the following seasons far longer.

Forgot to mention it at the time of release, but Ebony Maw in Avengers: Infinity War for some reason reminded me of the Crypt Keeper with the way he looked. Anyone else felt similarly? Something about his appearance was something Crypt Keeper-esque to me.

In On a Dead Man's Chest, the pitbull tattoo Danny has on his back is the same one Derek has in American History X. Looks like that tattoo design has been around a long time.

I seem to recall way back in the 90s when TFTC was still airing John Kassir appeared on Howard Stern's show where he talked about TFTC and it was pretty funny because IIRC Howard said something to the effect that the Crypt Keeper puppet freaked him out. I'm sure someone must have this out there somewhere, if it exists. Actually it'd be good to try to see if all of John Kassir's talk show appearances back in the day could be acquired where he talks about the show from during the time it was airing.

The mention of an “English Scari-tage” is a reference the Amicus film in 72! Another fun fact about that UK PRODUCTION is that Freddie Francis(the director of the 72 film) directed episode 2 of Season 7(Last Respects)

I can definitely try and look into this. Most recently I came across an old interview with the Cryptkeeper talking about Demon Knight that I posted on CryptTube

Cool. I'm sure John made his share of media appearances back in the day talking about the show, and any and all that can be found would be great. Welcome back, BTW You've been missed.
