Good question. The writers would know it for sure. Right. I mean, the writers had have had that in mind. Because the key word in Dream Demons is dream. Humanity have been dreaming since its inception due to being required to sleep. |

Animals dream as well. I wonder if the Dream Demons would only target humans though, and I'd imagine probably so.

Because in this context, even though animals have shown that they can also have dreams, humans tend to be more easier to be persuade into a bargain. Which also leads into the notion that, and this is left up to debate, if animals may or may not have souls for them to be able to exchange their souls for the kind of power and immortality given by the Dream Demons. |

I think animals are incapable of committing the same acts of evil as humans do, which makes the latter far more tempting for the Dream Demons.

Naturally, humans are more capable of committing acts of evil than animals. I think that with animals, they go by their natural instincts. Whereas humans have free will. The free will to either do good or do evil. As you indicated, humans and the way their nature can be at times would be far more tempting for the Dream Demons. |

Not to mention humans can be psychopathic and derive pleasure from causing harm to others, which would definitely attract the Dream Demons. Freddy clearly loves tormenting and killing.

That's why humans are the most dangerous creatures on Earth. They cause more destruction which is brought on by a hunger for power, control, and sick pleasure.
