Well clearly this episode has some significance for me given my avatar. I also think it's one of the most memorable images from the episode and from Crypt in general. What do you all think of this episode? Like with Only Sin Deep, it's not the best from Season 1 nor the worst. It can be hard to sometimes review the Crypt episodes that don't have scares, gore, supernatural stuff, ghosts, etc. I guess you could this an episode somewhat of a black comedy given the ending as well as the humorous tone. But the performances from all three leads for the somewhat stereotypical senior characters are good and add to the nutty proceedings.

A pretty good episode. As you said, neither among the best or the worst, but enjoyable. Jonas for sure is one of the most despicable antagonists of the entire show and his just desserts is one of the best of the series for sure.

I also love this episode. It's a shame that a lot of TFTC fans don't like it. But, it's okay. To each his or her own.
The episode was funny, quirky, kind of weird, and at times, creepy.
Even though I'm not an overly enthusiastic animal lover like Anita, I love animals and respect their nature. I adore a lot of the pets seen in the episode.
As Crypt Keeper had said, Jonas is one of the most despicable antagonists in the entire show. Even as a little girl when I had first seen the episode, I HATED him and I still do. As a child, I saw his character for what he was: a mean, grouchy old bastard. But as an adult, the more I watched the episode, the more I realized that he was worse than that. He is a sadistic, cruel, selfish piece of shit! It was the little things about him that I noticed that made me more incensed like having a fit over almost any little thing and even though it was rather subtle, obviously getting jealous over the attention Anita was giving to her pets.
Sure, Anita was kind of off her rocker and was too into animals, but she at least tried to make her husband's retirement peaceful and wanted to make him happy. She tried to give him attention but all he would do is have a conniption over almost any little thing she does for him and demean her. And he expected her to just stop caring about animals after working for 47 years and he barely took part in their marriage? Puhlease! It makes you wonder why they even gotten married in the first place.

The irony is with people like Jonas it makes it that much easier to love animals so much more than many people.

But for some animals who are suitable pets like dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, parrots, iguanas, etc., all they want is affection and attention from the humans that take care of them. Some animals tend to be better behaved than a lot of humans.

Anybody have any love for Roy like I do? I do. He's a goofy and lovable man. And not to mention, ironically, he's the only sane person in this entire episode.

I mean, who would want to be around such negative and horrible people like Jonas, anyway?

Props to M. Emmet Walsh who did excellent in the role and really made you completely loathe the character. He doesn't seem anything like Jonas in real-life at all.
