Anybody else remember this horror anthology show from the late 80’s early 90’s? It was kind of a spin-off if Tales From the Darkside and even had some of the same producers I think. Honestly it wasn’t nearly as good as TFTD but there are some good suspenseful episodes. Some of the effects/puppets are a bit silly now but as a kid looked scary 😂

I actually started a topic on this long ago but looking at it it never got responses for some reason.
I always liked this show, another one of my favorite Horror anthologies next to TFTC. Fond memories of catching reruns on the Sci-Fi Channel back in the 90s with my Grandma (R.I.P.)

The Match Game is my favorite as well. Everything about it from the mood and atmosphere, and the creature effects which still look really good three decades later. It's surprisingly quite gruesome for something that aired on broadcast TV, too.

I also love the episode, "The Match Game".
That episode felt like it could've been a full length film.

It has the feel to me of both a TFTC episode and also Are You Afraid Of The Dark? As if it were a collaboration between Crypty and the Midnight Society.

My only issue was the ending. Felt anticlimactic after a great suspenseful mood throughout

The design of the zombified Herbert Waverly is still amazing. Was worthy of being in a film for sure.
Sleeping Dragon is another favorite of mine. Another one that has good atmosphere and creature effects. It reminds me of The Thing with the isolated, arctic atmosphere.

Those of you who own the complete series DVD set, hang onto it and take good care of it; for some reason it's out of print and now goes for ridiculously high prices on the secondary market. Hopefully it gets a re-issue eventually.
