Also worth noting John Harrison (who directed many good TFTD episodes as well as the film) also directed the excellent TFTC episode, Easel Kill Ya. Kind of a shame he never directed more TFTC episodes aside from The Pit, which I remember not liking much.

And concerning "The Pit", I think it's an okay episode but, aside from the twist, it didn't fit well with a show like TFTC.

It's been so long since I last watched The Pit, I should re-visit it sometime soon. Easel Kill Ya has long been one of my favorite TFTC episodes. He's directed a few episodes of the recent Creepshow series as well.

He's directed a few episodes of the recent Creepshow series as well. Do so. Also, I've seen "Easel Kill You" once and I think it's a good episode. But it's one of the saddest TFTC episodes I've seen and I haven't watched since.

I think Easel Kill Ya has one of the most bleak endings of all TFTC episodes.

Got my copy of the new TFTD movie Blu-ray and can't wait to check out the HD remaster and the special features. The old DVD just had the trailer and a commentary. Hope there's production footage from the shoot on there, I always enjoy seeing on-set footage from films. Gives you more perspective on the film and more of an appreciation for the hard work that goes into making films of this sort.

If you're a fan of the TFTD movie, the recent Blu-ray is a must. Spent yesterday going through the special features. What an improvement over the old DVD.
Kind of a shame the planned sequel never happened. The TFTD movie was supposed to get a sequel and had three stories (adaptations of Stephen King's Rainy Season and Robert Bloch's Almost Human, along with the scrapped Pinfall segment from Creepshow 2), but for whatever reason the sequel just didn't happen. Hopefully the Creepshow TV series will finally adapt these stories, it would fit right in.
With the way the first TFTD film ended, I'm curious as to what the wraparound segments on the sequel would've been.
