As we know there were a ton of slashers that came out following Halloween and Friday the 13th. Most of them were pretty bad and admitted ripoffs if the others two films. However some were actually pretty good. The Burning I think was one of the better ones. I saw it Years ago as a kid then again a few years back when the Alamo Drafthouse screened it. Good take it Cropsy with good effects and some interesting characters

Pretty good movie with some excellent gore effects courtesy of none other than Tom Savini. Movies like this really make me miss the practical days of special effects, especially when it came to blood and gore. It has that early 80s charm for sure. Cropsy is an underrated villain.

I also like how this film has a very realistic, grounded feeling to it. Which in this day and age of non-stop CGI feels refreshing. There's a real purity and organic element a lot of these old-school Horror films have.
