Were you ever scared of the Crypt Keeper as a child back the when the show was airing (if you were alive at the time)? I remember the Crypt Keeper was my absolute worst fear as a kid and I was scared to tune into HBO sometimes back then for fear he'd appear. I remember I was always so scared to even look at him or hear his eerie cackling laugh and if I was watching TV and the show would come on I'd either shut the TV off or bolt from the room. It took me until my early teens at least to finally get over my fear, but as a child he scarred me so badly.
At almost 30 I'm obviously no longer scared of him, but for some reason once in a blue moon he'll appear in scary dreams of mine. I think because as a child he terrified me so badly there's a part of my sub-conscious that's been so traumatized by the character when I was younger that in a way he left a permanent mark which is perhaps why every now and then he'll appear in my dreams despite me being long past my fear of him.

I was scared of him when I was a kid, but that abruptly ended when I saw John Kassir on some talk show doing the voice. Once I saw that it was just some normal dude behind the character, any fear I had of him went away.

I was never really scared of him, but I started watching the show as a teen in the mid 90s. However I once switched channels to see if the show had started (it was late at night and I was watching a movie at another channel), and it was right at the point where he pops up from his coffin. That made me jump as I wasn't expecting it =)
However I was scared as a kid (and still am, to a point) of the Monsters intro. It didn't help that the channel showing it thought it was cool to advertise it in the middle of the day, and said advertisement started with the one-eyed mother and child from the intro.

I remember the Monsters intro. Another creepy one was for Tales From The Darkside, which even as an adult can put one in a very uneasy mood.
