I think anthology shows and more EC-type Horror would help to liven up the genre by now.

I think anthology shows and more EC-type Horror would help to liven up the genre by now. Absolutely! And the great thing about EC-type Horror is that not only is it genuinely exciting and creepy at times. It also surprisingly good morality lessons about good and evil, and shows that evil people will get their comeuppances. |

EC also had a wonderful balance of macabre Horror with dark humor that really made them stand apart from other types of Horror. The genre can really use something like that again.

In this day and age it'd feel refreshing to have more EC-style Horror again for sure.
On the subject of Crypt Keeper images, I'm hoping someone has scans of the trading cards from the early 90s. I'd sure like to get the complete set.
