Saw that just now. I too am actually relieved, from the trailer released a while ago it wasn't looking very good and between it being on TNT where it wouldn't be nearly as graphic as the HBO series and likely not going to use the original animatronic Crypt Keeper, it wasn't shaping up to be very good.

I've never approved of the idea, but I'm sure it wasn't the worst thing that could be done to the franchise. At least we no longer have to think about it.

As a TFTC reboot, yes, it most probably wouldn't compare to the original series. But as an anthology horror series fan, I'm a bit sad it's not going ahead. I was willing to see it as a non-TFTC related series.

At this point, it's for the best that the reboot should pass on. With everything surrounding it, it was going to be sheer madness and most likely garbage.
