I'm going with season 5's As Ye Sow.
I know most people would say Three's a Crowd, but I never liked that one much. It always felt kinda manipulative and overwrought to me. Now it certainly is "sad" but I don't think it's a good episode, while As Ye Sow I think is. So I'm going with that one.

I think both As Ye Sow and Three's a Crowd are extremely sad and definitely the saddest of the show. Leo in AYS wasn't really a bad guy, he was just frustrated and upset that his wife could be cheating on him and he wanted to get to the bottom of it, and when he learned the truth he got killed over nothing at all. TAC's ending is terribly tragic with how Richard kills not only his wife and best friend for nothing but also his unborn child, only learning after the fact his wife was pregnant and he was angry and jealous over absolutely nothing. I think Easel Kill Ya is sad too, in a way. Sharon dies and Jack ends up killing the surgeon who could've saved her and likely would've. Still, it wouldn't have been a happy ending either way, as Sharon would've liked told the police and pressed charges, and Jack would've probably still either gone to prison for life or gotten the death sentence. I feel Yellow is also deserving of a mention for this.

Easel Kill Ya is very sad as well, yeah. I also thought about Yellow, but of course that's not really a TFTC episode so I don't know if it should count.

I also think these two are the saddest episodes, and I would add the Switch as the third one. It's not among the best episodes, of course, and it's one of the few where nobody dies, but it's so sad to see him rejected like that after all this trouble he went through. He committed no crime, after all.

I think Yellow still counts as a TFTC episode, even if it was shoehorned in from another previously unrelated show. Another thing about Easel Kill Ya I find sad, Sharon seemed really sweet and caring, and I can only imagine the horror she would've felt seeing what Jack was up to and doing in his spare time. She cared so much for him and believed in him only to find out what a monstrous person he really was when he was alone.

Several of them come to mind, but definitely Threes's a Crowd. It's both very disturbing and so heartbreaking.

If you think about it, The Bribe is also a sad episode.
