True. I plan on making a topic about directors who made some good stuff but career was cut short from studio interence it whatever. Some good but lesser known horror movies some might enjoy

Tom Savini is another. He had a terrible experience making the Night Of The Living Dead remake, but recently returned to directed with a segment of the Creepshow TV show. He directed some good Tales From The Darkside episodes back then.

Alfred Sole Directed one of my favorite horror thrillers of all time Alice Sweet Alice. It has a very giallo/TFTC feel to it. He only did two more films but stopped directing because the studio system didn’t give him freedom. He later went on to become a production designer

It has to be so hard to work with the studio system, a lot of directors have their vision compromised. It seems the TFTC directors had a lot of creative freedom when it came to their episodes.

True. Intend to like the smaller movies because they usually get more freedom and creativity. I’m not a huge fan of the Marvel movies and things like that

There was a certain classiness TFTC had to it as well that elevated it above standard Horror fare of the time. The quality of the show and talent involved with it.

Yeah. It was cinematic in a way. I’ve always felt they are closer to short films rather that just episodes

It had a very cinematic quality to it, and in the earlier seasons it also nailed the EC Comics aesthetic they were going for.

Yes. Having big filmmakers as producers certainly helped the look as well as the creative freedom

There were other talented directors who sadly never did another episode or had that much of a directing career after their involvement with TFTC.
