Yup both were on. I have all my toys/action figures in my parents attic. This summer I gotta get over there and see what’s there. I had a ton of stuff from movie characters, tv, wrestling, sports etc

I still collect a lot of toys from the 80s and 90s, and always enjoy re-collecting toys I had back then that I lost or lost accessories for. A lot of vintage toys can be acquired for pretty decent and reasonable prices if you look.

Usually this topic is used for positive things that we miss from this great decade but like any other decade there were tragedies as well. Today marks the 25th Anniversary of the infamous TWA 800 explosion/crash that took the lives of 230 people. I think I may have mentioned that I actually took off on the same day at the same airport(JFK) about and hour and a half before TWA took off. It was definitely an incident that made me not like to fly as much anymore. I’ve flown more as an adult but still don’t love it. Anyway I just wanted to pay tribute to all those poor souls who tragically lost their lives on that fateful day.

I remember TWA Flight 800, that was a terrible tragedy. A moment of silence for those who perished and their loved ones.

Absolutely. Like I said I made this thread for positivity but I just felt it was appropriate to pay tribute to those people. It was also an event that impacted me personally.

I know what you mean. When the September 11th attacks happened back in 2001 one of my cousins was living not far from where the World Trade Center was and I had other relatives living there at the time also. Very scary.

Yeah I worked for Verizon and my building was right next to WTC7 so I saw the whole thing go down pretty much right there

That must've been so awful. My relatives also told me about the smell of burning corpses that was all throughout the city after the attacks, must've been terrible.

Yes very awful. I won’t get into it too much but I will just say that I saw people falling and as bad as that was it didnt compare to the sound of their body hitting the ground which was horrendous

I can't even imagine. Or what the aftermath of that would've looked like. I hope you don't have any long-term health issues either from all the debris and fumes that spread all over after the towers collapsed.

Nope I wasn’t exposed to any debris/dust. I was already on my way out if the city when the South Tower collapsed. We were told to go home after the second plane hit.

Very glad you're safe but still awful you were in such close proximity to the attacks. It's still unreal to think it'll be 20 years later.

I appreciate the kind words. I was also worried about my father because he was still on the police force at the time. Thankfully he had just had knee surgery that July so he was at the desk for a few months which probably saved his life. But he lost a lot of friends as well as people I knew. I had a lot of nightmares for several years. It also made my fears of flying(from the twa crash) rise up again. I started drinking a bit more than usual too because I was basically a college kid age at the time. But what really helped was meeting my wife years later.

I remember how scared people were of flying at the time and I was, too. It was totally understandable after the terrible events of that day. A part of me is still iffy about it as so much can go wrong on a plane.

What are your favorite 90’s snacks? I used to love dunkaroos and shark bites fruit snacks
