Anybody else love this underrated thriller! I feel like it dies t belong to one particular genre. It has elements of a thriller, horror, road movie, western, etc. Rutger Hauer plays one of the best villains I can think of. It also influenced some later films like Joy Ride and Breakdown. They don’t make movies like this anymore rally which USA shame

I saw it years ago on cable and remember liking it. Very good film from my memory and it's overdue for a rewatch.

Yeah they never play it on tv and I dint think they have ever given it a proper Blu-ray release in the US at least

Seeing that makes me realize how much Rutger Hauer is missed. Such a great actor, even in a not so good film he shined and gave it his all.

Yeah he is sorely missed. This is definitely a type of film they don’t make anymore and his character is the type of villain that arent portrayed anymore either. I find the villains in modern cinema come off cartoonish in many ways

He's also good as the lead hero in the underrated 1992 Sci-Fi/Action/Horror film, Split Second. I caught it a lot on cable back in the early 90s.

I've seen Nighthawks before, very good film from my memory. Been meaning to buy the Shout Factory Blu-ray of it.

Shame Rutger was never in a TFTC episode, he would've been a good fit for it. Perhaps had the show gone onto an eighth season.
