Next to TFTC this is one of my absolute favorite shows and was a tremendous staple of my childhood in the 90s. Saturday nights don't quite feel the same not tuning into Snick to catch the newest episodes. This show still holds up amazingly well and at times is very dark and intense for a kids' show, while it may have been made with kids in mind it definitely didn't talk down to them. I'm of the common opinion the show was the best during Seasons 1-5, but I also quite like and enjoy the latter two seasons. This show for me will always be the finest Nickelodeon back in the day had to offer. I think the show's best episodes were easily on par with the best TFTC ones.
Some of my favorite episodes:
The Tale Of The Dead Man's Float The Tale Of The Fire Ghost The Tale Of The Midnight Madness The Tale Of The Quicksilver The Tale Of The Water Demons The Tale Of Old Man Corcoran The Tale Of The Pinball Wizard The Tale Of The Nightly Neighbors The Tale Of The Bookish Babysitter The Tale Of The Manaha The Tale Of Badge The Tale Of The Silent Servant The Tale Of The Night Shift The Tale Of The Hatching The Tale Of The Dark Music The Tale Of Watcher's Woods The Tale Of Cutter's Treasure The Tale Of The Laughing In The Dark The Tale Of The Ghastly Grinner The Tale Of The Crimson Clown
To name a few, I have many others. My list is in no real order sans the first two.

Any other fans of this here? Been watching a bunch of episodes of this for Halloween lately along with TFTC and other Horror anthologies. It still holds up really well and not just as a piece of 90s nostalgia. I actually met the show's creator D.J. MacHale at a book signing a few years ago at the bookstore I work at, super nice and cool guy who answered a bunch of questions related to the show.

No. I was a little bit as a kid though.

An AYAOTD movie was recently announced and to be done by the same people behind the recent new version of It. I'm totally down for this. I loved the new It and I'd definitely like to see what the crew behind that movie would do with something like AYAOTD.

The writer who'd written the script for the movie, It, is writing the AYAOTD script. I hope it's good.

Got to wonder how the movie will be done. Will it be an anthology film akin to something like Creepshow? Will it be like the episode, Tale Of The Silver Sight, a story within a story? Will it be just one story? Also got to wonder about the Midnight Society. They'd be smart to have the new MS be the kids of the original members.

I think making it into an anthology film similar to Creepshow sounds cool and appropriate. Though, I wonder if people will accept it in that format. It's a shame that anthology films aren't fully accepted. I enjoy watching them.

As do I and I feel we don't get nearly enough anthologies these days, I miss them.

As do I and I feel we don't get nearly enough anthologies these days, I miss them. I miss them, too. At least one anthology film released every few years wouldn't hurt just as long as it's done right. And AYAOTD is the perfect opportunity to do an anthology film adaptation.

I got to wonder if any of the original Midnight Society actors might return for this as well? Would be an awesome surprise for fans and I bet a lot of the original cast would be down for it.

That would be very awesome! Even though they'd be a little too old to play their roles from the show, it would be great if they would return some way. Like something similar to how they brought the original Power Rangers actors from the 90s show for the 2017 film.

Would be awesome and a cool little treat for the original fans. Ross Hull (Gary) has never hid his association with the show so I'm sure he'd be down for reprising Gary.

It'd be awesome if they did. I'm sure the cast would be all for it and it'd be like friends being together again.
