And in the process it's majorly screwed with the MCU and has put it in a very bad and awkward corner.

And in the process, it's majorly screwed with the MCU and has put it in a very bad and awkward corner. Yeah. It's mostly Disney and Marvel Studios' fault. If they had known that they wouldn't keep Spidey for very long, they wouldn't have done all of that planning and hyping.

They probably got overly confident they'd be able to keep Spidey. This whole situation spells doom for the MCU's future if nothing is worked out :/

They probably got overly confident they'd be able to keep Spidey. This whole situation spells doom for the MCU's future if nothing is worked out :/ THEY DID. They got way too confident AND cocky. I heard that one of the main reasons why the deal ultimately fell through was due to Disney asking for over half of the control over Spider-Man. And they don't even own the film rights of him and other Spider-Man related characters!
It's like they were doing way too much with the character without thinking and without being careful about any potential changes that might effect his presence in the MCU. As you said, this situation does spell doom for the MCU's future since they were kind of placing Spidey as the face of the MCU. Then again, they put Captain Marvel as the face of the MCU. But for some reason, they're scared shitless that they no longer have Spidey. What did they expect? SMH.

It puts Phase 4 is a really bad spot too, and it's all the worse given the ending of Far From Home.

It puts Phase 4 is a really bad spot too, and it's all the worse given the ending of Far From Home. Right. Some would already argue that Phase 4 is already in a bad spot due to all of the social justice and Feminism BS being added onto it. But this makes it MUCH WORSE.

Sadly that's the case. Not to go on a political tirade, but as much I can't stand Trump I'm equally sick of seeing so much feminist nonsense creep into entertainment lately and it's unfortunate to see that happening with Marvel. Not sure if you've seen Avengers: Endgame yet, but there's a scene in it that made me shake my head. If it was supposed to be an empowering moment for women then to me it failed miserably at that.

ABSOLUTELY! I haven't seen Avengers: Endgame (and I probably won't since I'm burned out from the MCU) but I've read and heard a lot of about the nauseating political and feminist BS they shoved into the film. I also can't stand Trump but this feminism shit is UNBEARABLE.

The irony is that Trump is largely to blame for this stuff being so abundant in entertainment lately since it's largely a kneejerk reaction to his (admittedly disgusting) comments about women. It's a case of an equal and opposite reaction. I'm all for genuine empowerment for people of both genders but this stuff to me is pure pandering which is absolutely not the same as legit equality or empowerment.

This is basically a two wrongs don't make a right situation. Now, entertainment AND politics are just SHEER, MINDLESS CHAOS.

I think there's a time and a place to discuss everything, including touchy issues like politics, but they should always be kept out of entertainment, no matter how much I may agree with some of what's being said. People go to movies to escape the harshness of reality and this isn't in keeping with that at all.

It's really unfortunate how so much has become so politically charged lately. It's so disappointing to see Marvel cave in to this crappy and annoying trend.

And it's no surprise that things are getting worse and worse because of this BS. It's taking the joy out of everything. And I should've known that the MCU would eventually fall into this trap. And now, people are tapping out of seeing any future MCU films.

Even though I'm excited for the future of the MCU, one can't help but feel it's already past it's prime and there's no re-capturing the excitement of the earlier years, especially around the time the original Avengers came out.
