The show WandaVision is getting very good reviews. I don't have Disney+ so I'm just waiting for a Blu-ray release.

Black Widow has now been pushed back to July 9th and will be simultaneously released both in theaters and on Disney+. Times are different now due to COVID-19 so some concessions like this have to be made.
I was kinda looking forward to Black Widow before but the more it keeps getting pushed back the more I lose interest in it. It's not even yesterday's news anymore at this point.

I saw Black Widow when it came out last month and have to say sadly it was the first MCU film I didn't care for. I guess Marvel's winning streak was going to break at some point and this was the film that did it for me. I just found it tedious with bland action scenes and the story just didn't grab me like it did with the other MCU films, and what they did with Taskmaster was infuriating to me. Despite the year-long delay, there's the feeling fatigue may have finally set in for the MCU.

I'm digging this. Phase 4 so far has been very hit and miss for me (I hated Black Widow, liked Shang-Chi and didn't care for Eternals). This looks to give Phase 4 a much-needed boost.

Forgot to say I saw No Way Home back in December and it was awesome. Definitely revitalized my interest in the MCU after how much I didn't care for Eternals at all. Though I admit I'm starting to finally feel a little burned out on so many comic book and superhero films as of late and feel like at least a good 2-3 year break from such would help.
It's not part of the MCU, but I didn't care for the recent Morbius film. It's not as bad as some of the more scathing reviews have made it out to be, but I wouldn't call it good, either. Just very meh and forgettable, and not even in a run of the mill sort of way.

Just very meh and forgettable, and not even in a run of the mill sort of way. I also had seen Spider-Man: No Way Home at the movie theater. Three times, in fact. I LOVE that film. It's what a comic book film, a superhero film, and a Spider-Man film should be. I also don't care for films like Eternals and Morbius. From what I've heard, those films had bad writing and were non-coherent. What's sad is that those films, or rather, Morbius, had potential. And I'm just going to come out and say it. Morbius should've been rated R. I've been a bit burned out on comic book films as well. But films like Spider-Man: No Way Home and The Batman make it hard to completely stop watching.

No Way Home definitely has me optimistic for the MCU. For me that filmed saved the MCU after how lackluster I found both Black Widow and Eternals to be. It didn't just save the MCU but it may even make the Venom films worthwhile if we get a good Spider-Man crossover film out of it.
Morbius definitely should've been a hard R, you can tell making a character like him family-friendly just doesn't work, at all.

I think that time will tell if the MCU will truly stay afloat because there are still so many problems going on. There's a lot of SJW agenda and poisonous politics being shoved into the movies. From what I've heard, that's one of the main reasons why Black Widow and Eternals were so bad. It's like they've foregone good writing and coherency over brownie points and "being inclusive". Not to mention, Sony has the movie rights to Spider-Man and they get 75% of the earnings from NWH through the deal they have with Disney. Exactly about the character of Morbius. Sony can't get it through their thick skulls that making movies with certain characters like him AND Venom family-friendly don't truly work. There's always something holding them back and there's no bite (pun intended) to them due to having a PG-13 rating. There's only so much that can be shown in a PG-13 rated film. At least Warner Bros., albeit reluctantly, took a chance with making Joker rated R and it ultimately paid off in more ways than one.

That's what put me off both Black Widow and Eternals, besides both movies being so atrociously boring. They were more pre-occupied with an SJW agenda than anything. I'm all for genuine inclusivity and diversity but these two movies went about it all wrong and in a way that was just embarrassing. The earlier MCU films did a wonderful job of being inclusive without forcing it or shoving it down your throat, and the way these two films went about it felt regressive rather than progressive. No Way Home has given me hope, so let's see where the MCU goes from here. I really can't emphasize enough how much that film outright rescued the MCU.
Sad thing is we're likely never going to see the original R-rated cut of Venom. Venom: Let There Be Carnage was alright but I still can't believe we got a character like Carnage in a PG-13 film. It felt so wrong and off. It was great finally getting a proper R-rated version of The Joker in his solo film, and to be honest I'd much rather we get sequels to that film where The Joker will remain unrestrained. I wouldn't want to see a PG-13 version of him again after that.

Not an MCU film, but Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Part One has been pushed back to June next year from it's original October 2022 release. This might not be such a bad thing as I'm starting to feel a burnout and oversaturation of so many comic book and superhero films, and feel a bit of a breather is a good idea. I've greatly enjoyed the MCU for the most part but like any other media property, sometimes it just gets to the point of oversaturation and a little time away is needed. The MCU has had an amazing run but like anything else, a little break helps.

I'm feeling kind of meh about this to be honest. Not a big Natalie Portman fan and I find it surprising she's even been allowed back given how she spoke not very positively of the first two Thor films. Maybe it's just the feeling of burnout but I'm not too excited by this trailer even though I'll still see the film. I guess for me I'm finally feeling fatigued on comic book films after how abundant they've been this past decade and there's the feeling of oversaturation and like a sizable break is needed.

Happy 10th anniversary to The Avengers, which ten years ago today saw release. I'm in disbelief it's that old already as it definitely doesn't feel like it's been that long. I remember well what a sensation it was when it came out. It set a whole new gold standard for how good comic book films can be and is still one of the very best of the MCU.

Thor: Love And Thunder was surprisingly very good and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. That said, I still feel like the MCU and comic book films in general can use a good 2-3 year breather as there's definitely the feeling of oversaturation and burnout by now. I guess it was inevitable with how long the films have been going on.
