It's a shame the Terminator series now has to end on such an unsatisfying note with Dark Fate instead of with the closure T2 brought.

There was no real reason or need to do more after T2, other than obviously financial.

It's a shame the series has to end on such a sour note with Dark Fate's underwhelming box office. Doubtful it'll do any better when it hits the home formats. Some movie series that have been dormant for years should really stay that way.

Even if it did better and made enough for more sequels, even I have to admit that well into his 70s, it's getting pretty unbelievable to see Arnold keep reprising the Terminator. I admire he isn't letting his age keep him down but it gets to a point it's time to move on.

I definitely can't see an 80-something Arnold as a Terminator a few years from now. Having him come back as an older version of say, Dutch from Predator, that's one thing. But an elderly Terminator is something that for some reason just doesn't click as well as it should. Which to be fair is probably far more due to the sub-par quality of the last two sequels more than anything.

I hate to throw around the dreaded R-word but if we get another Terminator film, it'll doubtlessly be either a reboot or even a straight-up remake.

Let it die with what little dignity (if any) it has left. The legacy of the first two films has been badly tarnished enough.

At this rate another bad sequel is just salt and lemon juice in the wounds.
I recently went through the MCU again all this past week and wrapped up earlier. I had fun but am definitely pretty exhausted. It's amazing how well the MCU maintains quality, even with the lesser films. All that said, it does feel like the MCU could use a breather for a good while.
